Update 27/3/24 After having the handover in December 23' we found the house was not cleaned properly, there was building dust everywhere, and sticker residue on toilets and windows. PCI items flagged were not done, and power was not on at the house when keys were given to us we had to flag down one of the sparkies at another CSA house to get power connected as the site supervisor didn't bother to push for power to be connected over another house that was months from being finished. Maintenance items were submitted a month ago with no response from CSA as to when these will be addressed or when the outstanding PCI items that weren't done will be addressed. If we could do it all again we would choose another builder as the experience with CSA and the final result has been less than subpar. Update 17/7/23 Another block who received ok to start 6 days after us and who had their slab laid 2 - 3 weeks after us has been at lock up for the better part of 3 weeks now and was at lock up before their brick work was completed. Our house sat there for 3 weeks after bricks were done without even having first fix electrical completed, something seems very off with the fact that one house can be completely bricked yet have nothing happen and another house laid after the first house can be at lock up before bricks are completed. We were told our joinery won't arrive until mid-September but this other house has had it arrive and started to be installed already. On Friday I counted at least 3 houses who's slabs were all laid well after ours who have been Gyprocked and another 4 that have been insulated, yet we have no insulation or Gyprock on site let alone installed! Again the entire process seems to be a lucky dip circus of who gets what when and when you call CSA and speak to people you get three different answers from three different people to the exact same question in the space of a week so the information is still not consistent. Bring on the end of November / December when we will be out of money and homeless because of how long this process has dragged on for. I would love to know the reasoning why some houses are pushing so far ahead yet our house and our neighbor's houses continue to lag behind in the process. __________________________________________________________ Update 7/6/23 Process is still terrible, dates are never accurate people who’s slabs were laid a month after ours and signed months after us are getting roofs while our roof has sat on the ground for two weeks, it was supposed to go up before bricks and now have been told it won’t go up until bricks have completed. Yet we are told it’s 16 weeks from the roof going up to gyprock going in so again we are delayed further because they can’t stick to a time line. Over two years of this nonsense and with rate rises, family issues and Land Australia and CSA’s l continued delays and excuses we are likely going to be quite literally homeless come Christmas. Never mind the fact my sister signed with a different builder in a new estate 6 months after we did and got the keys to her house a couple of weeks ago. This process has been a nightmare and continues to be so. Anyone have a place we can pitch a tent for a few months come Christmas? _________________________________________________________ Original post. Building with SAHC which is CSA, 689 working days since we signed our contract, poor communication and still no slab, frankly over it, can't wait for the house to be completed so we can sell it, all the joy of building has been sucked out of the place and I no longer want to move into it. Communication is almost non existent unless we do the chasing to get them to communicate with us, when they do communicate with us its to tell us they can't give us the information we are requesting such as a ball park dates for things to occur. Meanwhile people we know building with Hickinbotham who are also CSA are told dates for timber to arrive etc without even having to chase it, not sure why the can have the information but we cant.

Provide the bare minimum of help and service, have had so many issues it's becoming sad. Been in our new home for around 18 months it's been one thing upon another as far as issues with quality and workmanship goes. From a leaking toilet that was finally replaced after it leaking for 12 months and their plumbers using more silicone every time we had a leak until we took it upon ourselves to get the caroma Rep to come out. Our home was literally completely bricked in 1 day apart from the garage wall and this is apparently unacceptable do to the amount of weight being put on mortar before it's dry causing the walls to compress the bottom layers of mortar around the foundation that can cause structural issues further down the track. We have excessive moisture coming through the slab and window seals and into our children's rooms and spare room causing black mould to occur under the carpet and destroying the carpet. Already had our carpets replaced due to this and Hickinbotham won't provide any remedy even though our building inspector has said the problem is theirs to fix and resolve. We've been to consumer affairs and our council and have gotten no where. The mortar in our bricks have so much penetration (holes) that they are meant to be fixing and still haven't. We paid extra for light mortar and the first amateur they sent to repair some of the penetration used grey cement to touch the holes up, and besides looking horrible on our very light sand colored mortar simply blew out from the repairs with my breath as if he used dust to fill the holes. Please be very wary of building with Construction services Australia and Hickinbotham or any of their sister companies (SA HOUSING CENTRE) because if you have any problems as minor or as serious as ours, you will soon be living a nightmare and dealing with receptionists PUTTING YOU ON THE BACK BURNER as no one else will you have you'll be stuck with substandard home that you have to fix yourself. It's really sickening that a business of this size can get away with the poor workmanship and service they provide.

I have been building with this company on my family's first home with my wife and three kids. We have been let down on every basic level of communication and transparency. Including within their own team. They layed stormwater after we had signed a varience to allow to us to lay the stormwater and concrete. They then decided to waste their tradies time by telling us they would go remove it. Our house is still being built and our slab pour was in April 2022. I know it is close to the end and I would usually wait until everything is completed and ready till I left a review ,but frankly the service is so bad I feel I should warn people.
