I hate to be the only bad review for Ben but, it is what it is. Ben was recommended to me when I asked a contractor for a "good architect". What I received was drawing full of errors. To the point where my trades would call him for clarification on dimensions more than once. His design and communication were good. I can't fault him there but there were many errors, most were caught before hand - Unfortunately, a few passed through that ended up costing me thousands of dollars and weeks of time. His excuse is he fixed the errors quickly when they were found but my question is why are there errors in the first place?? does he not check his work before it leaves the office? Does he not take pride in his work? In the beginning he came out to my house to measure. But still, there were errors. And as a home owner I couldn't catch them all. He blamed me for acting as General Contractor. Maybe, but his drawings do states "he takes full responsibility for his drawings" but I found out this is not the case at all. In fact he covers himself by saying all trades must verify measurements. But this is difficult when ordering material from his plans or not present on site when other work is being done. Why bother having drawings if they are wrong? At one point I told him " This is why I hired a professional, so mistakes wouldn't happen" So, After doing more research on him after all these errors and thousands of dollars2 months of lost construction time, I found out he is not an actual architect but an architectural designer - big difference! when it comes to responsibility. He takes none, and I am proof of this. I even sent him a bill from a mistake and he said it was my fault. Maybe it is, but with all the other errors I think I know better at this point. If you use Ben, he is likeable and does have nice design which you will be happy with - we are in the end. Just don't count on his accuracy of the plans you receive and go over everything three times. Don't assume they are right because he should know better than you. Learn my lesson before you learn the hard way like I did.

I was referred by my contractor, and was really glad I was. Ben and his team worked well within my short deadlines, and did excellent work. My drawings were very well done and I had that validated from other experts I work with and my friends in trades. Prices were very fair. I needed to make a change and Ben was quick to follow up and eager to help. For all the things I had to stress over, I thankfully did not have to worry about anything he was taking care of! Very professional and friendly service as well. I would highly recommend all to work with Ben and his team on any upcoming projects!

BM Architectural Design

We contacted Ben a year ago. We had just moved into our forever property however the house was not working for us. We wanted to have a functional house for our family of 5 without much wasted space. I spoke to Ben on the phone and he had me sold. Telling me that he liked to design houses with purpose and would make sure to see what our family's current and future needs would be. We are not into huge houses with wasted spaces. We were looking for a mix of mid century and modern farm house. We wanted to maintain the bungalow to "age in place". With the first elevation delivered he nailed our design taste. It was perfect! ( Actually we thought of modifying it but ended up back at his original exterior design because it was perfect from the get go) the layout was great too. Such a great combination of open concept and private spaces. Ben did advise us that going up , adding a second story, may be cheaper. We decided we liked the function of the bungalow and proceeded with that. As it turns out it was more expensive than we had hoped and COVID pricing didn't help either with prices coming in about 100 k+ over our budget. Yikes. Our eyes were definitely bigger than our pockets. With our heads hung low, we contacted Ben again and he graciously listened to our thoughts and provided us with new elevations that reflect a partial two story. He had many ideas and didn't shy away from showing them to us. Ben had been a pleasure to work with. He is extremely flexible, he listens to ideas and input from the client. He has excellent communication and will email back in a very timely manner. He also recommended several general contractors that might be a good fit for us. I often worried I was being a bother, but Ben always reassured me that I was not and it was all part of the design process. At this stage, we are still sitting in the design phase as life got a little in the way. We are extremely excited to get back to work with Ben and turn our home into our beloved forever home. I would certainly recommend BM architectural design for your home design needs time and time again. Thank you! We are excited.

Ben is an absolute pleasure to work with. He helped us design our new home and made a seemingly overwhelming task easy and straightforward. We appreciate the time he took to meet with us during the design process. We were very impressed with his ability to listen to us and create a design that met our needs while bringing forth ideas that we had not considered. Ben continues to stay involved during the construction process and is always available to help with any question we or our builder have.
