Breakaway Landscaping did a fantastic job on our recent landscaping project. They were professional, showed up on time, had good suggestions, and finished the project in a way that we were 100% satisfied with. Doug was great to work with. Overall, I highly recommend using them.
I am so pleased to have chosen Doug and his Breakaway team to install a low stone wall around my front garden. Finding a reliable contractor is a risky venture, but right from our initial meeting I felt confident that Doug was the right choice. Doug and the Breakaway Team installed new fencing, gardens and interlock in our backyard last summer.
They did a great job that was according to plan, on time and on budget. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Breakaway Landscaping has been doing our regular lawn and garden maintenance for years. They are reliable, efficient and easy to work with. They always respond quickly when we call for extra services such as fall clean ups. No other company does as good of a job with the edging of our grass!
Breakaway Landscaping has also done our landscaping. They renovated our front yard with pavers, gardens and modern lighting. They made a fantastic design - we get so many compliments! They were very accommodating, clean and easy to work with. Their pricing was very competitive. Their work is of great quality . Breakaway is the only company that we would work with and trust with our property!

Steve came by to give me a quote on my backyard of my new place. He was honest and informative and made me realize, what I thought I needed I didn't actually at this time. While I didn't utilize his services this time, I would definitely recommend Breakaway to anyone looking for a landscaper as he was open and honest in our conversation and I felt very at east as a potential customer.

Disappointing experience, expensive, hard to get back for follow-up
Initially we were happy with the job done by Breakaway Landscaping – they created attractive brick pathways beside our driveway and rebuilt our front steps and patio. But over time several bricks began to sink and after a few years became a trip hazard. We contacted Breakaway to come back to rectify the problem. However they were very difficult to pin down to commit to a date. We agreed in April to proceed, but had to follow-up numerous times to get them to come out. They finally came out in September – 5 months later!
They agreed to do the work at cost as their initial job had failed. They charged $1,500 for the repair of several bricks which had to be removed and re-levelled with no materials except a bit of sand/gravel and claimed this amount did not include any profit. It took 10 hours for a junior labourer to do the work, with Doug coming back from time to time to check on the fellow’s progress. But when they thought they were done and wanted to leave I noticed that they had knocked another brick out and now it wasn’t level. They said they would be back within the next 2 days to finish. Guess what? They didn’t come and I had to contact them to get them back. And after they left we noticed that they had simply tossed the waste materials in our garden rather than disposing of them properly. I contacted Steve to get someone out to clean up the mess but he simply ignored my request.

We used Steve, Doug and their teams to help us re-imaging our front walk, front landscaping, side walk and rear patio areas. We were extremely pleased with all of the work performed. Their pricing was excellent and the work was done to a very professional standard. Steve and Doug provided excellent advice on stone selection and colour-matching and did a great job helping us to select plant materials and other decorative elements to finish the project off right. Their service was prompt and the communication with Doug and his on-site teams was completely excellent, so that we always knew what was happening next. I would highly recommend Breakaway Landscaping regardless of the size of your project.
