Unfortunately my experience with JHAI has not been the best. I have had multiple issues with them in terms of communication and the works they have asked to be done have mostly been excessive of what was required. Eventually, they unilaterially cancelled the building control works, without refund, despite us waiting on the fabrication of security railings which were out of our control.
Please heed the other poor reviews posted here and choose another company which is better thought of.
You have been warned.
Awful. Breakdown in communication with both my builders and architect. Waited until the end of the build to inform me that the design did not conform to fire regulations. I then had to retrospectively install a fire system at a significant cost, ruining the newly decorated rooms. Also misplaced photographic evidence provided by the contractors causing further confusion. The main project manager - Crispin, just stopped communicating, which was bizarre. Just take note of all these 1 star reviews and avoid, avoid, avoid!

I would not recommend them, I have sent all the documents way back in March and still waiting for my completion certificate, I have to chase every time there is no audit or log of call's or email's - I have to resend the emails with photos which were sent in March again in July this yr... this a zoke,, frustrating .

Jhai has been really terrible dealing with to be honest. Very upfront in taking 100% payment but then they just dont deliver what you signed up for. Their terms will say they need 48 hours notice but they never give an appointment until its a minimum 7 days. Not sure what the admins do since they are responsible for booking appointments but then say they cant see the diaries of the Building Inspector. What a poor management!! I have also had last minute cancellation with no effort to trying to accommodate for their own faults. They dont even give you any time frame of what time they will arrive so it could be any time from 8am to 6pm, you cannot ask since the admins have no clue either. You are just at their mercy. If I go ahead with another extension work, I will just avoid them and look elsewhere.

We are Construction project managers / cost consultants - we use Building Control on 95% of our schemes - i have recently dis-instructed JHAI (Florence Sloane) as they never came back to us despite numerous requests, e-mails, calls for a response (and potential for ongoing work) - very poor service indeed

Arrogant administrators and lack of communications at all stages. The "supposedly qualified" inspector was very unprofessional and lazy. Worst experience that we certainly did not need for our months-long, stressful renovation project in the first place during the lockdown!

We built a complex extension for a client who used Jhai to carry out the inspections during the build. Leigh Till was the inspector throughout the build. Great communication, knowledgeable and approachable.

I work for an architecture practice and we always use JHAI as our private building control inspectors. They are super efficient and are much easier to deal with than than a local council.

Terrible people to deal with.
Quick to take money, agreed to time frame then after payment made delays, excuses and never carried out work — but kept 25% of fee.
