Edited review: Upgraded to 5 stars (from 3). When I contacted Altrol about the lingering problem, they sent someone out today to fix it. It's done. I'm very happy. The customer service and the crews at Altrol are top-notch. They are very busy, but still left me feeling I'm their only customer. They are knowledgeable, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. I really wanted to give 5 stars, but one problem dating back to the work done in late March/early April has not been fixed. My kitchen sink has not been draining properly since that first project. It takes nearly 30 minutes for a sink half-full of water to drain. Also, the water pressure for the hot water is about half what it used to be. I mentioned it to at three different people this week, and I was told someone would be by today and snake the line. No one has come by. So far, my toilet is flushing fine (it was doing so for the past 2 weeks, after Dan did some snaking to hold things together while we waited for this week's work). I have just spent a lot of money for these repairs and drain replacements. I would really like all the drains in my house to be working. If this will be an additional cost, please let me know how much. The team has been nothing but professional and efficient. I'm just disappointed this final problem is still not fixed.

Plumber and assistant were great. Nice and polite. Pretty knowledgeable and informative. Prices are what they are but not worth it unless you are in a bind like we were. Guess a premium price is worth it when you need it but doesn’t make it easier.

200 dollar call out fee, 200 dollars for 1 hour of the plumber’s time. The plumber did the job in 10mins (and he was polite and did a good job). But 400 bucks is awefully steep for cutting one pipe back and then attaching a pipe that costs less than 10 dollars. Had it just been the plumbers fee I could kind of be ok with it, but 400 dollars feels like extortion. If you have the time and resources you are better served doing it yourself. I will not be using Altrol in the future.

Chris was amazing. Super cool dude and was extremely friendly and motivated to get the job done. He completely replaced the entire plumbing system in my rental cabin. I will absolutely be using this service again in the future!

$670 for this "repair". Took the plumber 30 minutes to determine the issue and use my wood as a wedge to hold the pump in place. Zero follow up scheduled. Even for a weekend call out, I do not understand how it could be this expensive.

I had Dan and Jason replace my furnace and found that my wires were bad going to the thermostat out at Birch Lake at my fish house. They did a great job.

31 October 22 Update: I chose not to reach back out to management. Given the history of lackluster workmanship and lack of accommodation when I last phoned, I chose to accomplish the repairs on my own. First pictures are the (improper) filter housing that Altrol had installed pre-pump. Note the rust stains from the leaks. Interestingly, these type of cartridge filters are not recommended as they can clog and burn out the well pump. I researched, sourced, and installed the correct spin-down sediment filter. No leaks. Next pictures are of the job Altrol did replacing the backflow preventer, versus the new unit I put in myself. Amazingly, also zero leaks from my DIY repair. I think the pictures speak for themselves as to what these “pros” are proud to put their names on. —-Original Update—- *Downgraded to 1 star* I reached out as requested and told them my issues with the work performed. I was told that the warranty company closed out their claim as denied (not sure why, other than the fact that they didn’t follow the process - the leaks per the warranty were covered). I was apprised that since I essentially received “$1400 worth of work for free” that if I wanted the leaks fixed (what they were called out for initially) I’d need to pay the service fee and the labor fee. So I’m - in essence - out the original service call fee and no closer to having my issue rectified. —-Original Post—- I’m conflicted on this review for several reasons. I was referred to Altrol by my home warranty company. They were quick to get me onto their schedule with concerns over some water leaks. I waited during the time period, and no one came. I called up to discover that the tech had run behind at his previous call, and they asked to re-schedule. I told them I’d called out of work, and they were able to get the tech over to address my concerns. When he arrived, I showed him my concerns and he quoted the repairs and told me he could get parts. I asked him to confirm with the office that I’d pay only the service call fee (quoted repairs were ~ $1400). I was assured all was good, so we proceeded with the repairs. Upon finishing, the tech left, and I discovered that one of the replaced components was still leaking. The tech had told me beforehand that the components were notorious for leaking, but still came back to look. He restated that the component might leak but he could change again. I declined. Afterward, the tech came back once more and told me that they actually weren’t supposed to perform the work until approved by the warranty company. I was asked to pay up front and take it up with the warranty company. I declined. To their credit, I haven’t received any further communication asking me to pay more than the service fee. Unfortunately, I discovered that the other component is also still leaking a little bit… but at this point I’m not comfy calling them to rectify the work. There’s certainly potential for a great experience, and I hope mine was just something that slipped through the cracks. Just left feeling like I’m no closer to a permanent solution, and was a little offput to be asked to foot the bill for their oversight.
