My wife and I have used Steel Timber on projects for 3 consecutive summers now. It doesn't get any better than Luke and his crew. Not only do they use the best products, but they have good people who actually care about doing great work. Steel Timber has come by each spring and replaced any damaged fence boards they found from the previous winter. They are by far the most professional company we have dealt with in our 8 years of living in Alaska. You may find someone a little cheaper, but you certainly won't find a company any better.
We enjoyed doing business with Steel Timber Fence Co. The fence installers worked like a well oiled machine. Well organized, hard working and highly skilled. Isiah and Taylor are just two of the five crew members I have names for but I would like to give a huge thanks to all of them for the great work they performed. They were a real pleasure to work with. I would recommend Steel Timber Fence Co. to any and all looking to have a beautiful fence installed.

So we needed a fence done in the front of our yard as we live in a cul-de-sac and needed to show some of our neighbors the boundary because they have no sense of respect of other’s property or boundaries. We also needed a big steel swing gate done to our backyard. We selected Steel Timber Fence Company because we’ve seen their work in our community and we’re very impressed. The whole process went smoothly, even when we changed what type of fence we wanted at the last minute (after the neighbor drove through our yard again). We just called Luke and changed from a cedar split rail to galvanized steel fence. Luke totally worked with us on it and changed the plans the night before with no problem.
Not long after our fence post were set in concrete our neighbor made an interesting move. They decided to have Red Valley throw together an 8 1/2 foot privacy fence in their front yard between our properties right next to the steel post we had just had put in.
Too bad they hadn’t done that sooner because it would’ve definitely solved the issue of them and their Airbnb guests driving through and walking into our yard.
The Red Valley crew were polite enough, but it was plain to see that they weren’t interested in doing quality work and they had no idea where the property lines even were. They just started digging holes. We’re not in an HOA here but we have great views of the mountains and there are covenants on our properties. A 6 foot fence is the max permitted. When it became obvious that the fence was going to be over 8 feet tall we provided the Red Valley crew copy of the covenants, which they accepted and seemed appreciative and said they would talk to their boss. They then continued working and built the 8 foot and a half fence. (some of red valley owners live in our area and know full well what the “rules” are)
Remember to hire somebody with good character and go with Steel Timber who are fence professionals
We are very happy with how our fence turned out and the gate is fantastic and strong and fits perfectly and the latch is super tough and should hold up great to the big Alaskan winter winds we get here.
Both are very strong and very good quality.
Remember you get what you pay for so it’s not always best to go with the cheapest estimate.

Last summer a cow moose and her calf used our raised bed vegetable garden as their own personal buffet. They ate everything except the potato plants. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back as we had moose problems before so we decided that a fence was in order. After preparing a preliminary fence design and getting HOA approval, we went searching for a fencing contractor. Enter Steel Timber Fence Co. I spoke with Manager Luke Wright and was impressed with his professional demeanor and enthusiasm for his work. I incorporated suggestions made by Luke into the final plan drawings. The Steel Timber crew started on time and completed work as promised. The construction crew performed their work in a professional manner and maintained a tidy work site with all construction debris removed from the site at the end of the project.
My wife and I are very pleased with the looks and sturdy construction of the fence. The combination of black chain link and wood is stunning. We highly recommend Steel Timber Fence Co.

After weeks of looking for a fencing contractor we were lucky enough to get a site visit and bid from Luke at Steel Timber. It wasn't the cheapest bid but after 5 minutes talking to Luke, coupled with the excellent reviews my wife found, I knew we had found our fencing company. As others have said, they are busy and you may have to wait, but they gave us a schedule when they came out in the middle of winter to estimate the job, and were here on the day they had promised, and that doesn't happen often with contractors. The job was on a difficult lot with challenging and multi sloped terrain but these guys made it look easy. Eli, Luke's partner in the business, personally led the crews that set the posts and then came back later and constructed the fence and he was extremely professional in everything he said and did, he even came back following the job to make sure I was happy with everything. I rarely recommend anyone but I don't hesitate to recommend these guys
