Mark is incredible, as are the people who work with him -- he has excellent relationships (and discounts) with high quality vendors, and real boots-on-the-ground knowledge. We worked with him for seven months on an extensive home renovation after fire and water damage -- and from electricity to plumbing to kitchen remodeling, there was nothing he couldn't handle. His time estimates were accurate and his costs also came in as estimated (and sometimes under). He is absolutely worth the price -- you get true bang for your buck, and he won't be a stranger when the work is complete. He's been wonderful to work with, from beginning to end -- I'd give him six stars if I could.

We hired Mark to renovate our kitchen. We were incredibly impressed with his work that stayed within our budget. The custom cabinets and countertops he sourced were exactly what we requested and well priced. He problem solved as issues arose in our older townhome. The project was completed on time even with additional bumps. We will use California Building and Design again!

I have worked on several projects with Mark and his team. They have done complete and full of remodels and renovations for me. They are extremely honest, professional, and work with a strong moral compass. They’ve never done anything to try to cut corners and have gone above and beyond when some thing was needed. They take the time to listen and never make promises that they can’t keep. Their work is an exceptional quality and all my homes have turned out beautifully, well-crafted and at times even under budget. They are a fantastic choice when it comes to doing any type of construction And I hope to be able to do more renovations with them in the future. They are one of those companies that stand out above the others they don’t do things cheaply and quickly just trying to get the job done but they take their time and their work definitely shows that. I would highly recommend them

Mark and his team did a fantastic job renovating our home! We remodeled two bathrooms, tore down a wall, repaved our driveway, and had our backyard landscaped. Mark was extremely responsive, punctual and transparent. There were no hidden costs or charges. The quality of the work is fantastic and everyone who comes to our home compliments it. Mark has also been great in terms of follow-up and answering questions as they arise. It is really reassuring to have a contractor we can trust. We highly recommend CA Building and Design!

Mark Kargol of CB&D fixed up my kitchen, repainted my house/fencing, did an entire renovation of my bathroom, and converted my storage space into an art studio. I'm incredibly happy with all of the work. Mark is a great collaborator, executing my specific (at times very specific) requests, as well as offering up unique and clever options himself. The turnaround was fast, and I wasn't especially put out, even with the renovation of my single bathroom. The pricing was fair, with an itemized breakdown that didn't leave any questions or hidden fees. Mark has been great with followup as well, making sure the renovations are holding up. All in all a great contracting experience. I'll be going to California Building and Design for any future fixes to my home.
