After the deck was stained, large shiny pink blemishes, from the old solid stain remain, and large shiny blotches occurred because the stain was allowed to pool in certain areas instead of being wiped down. The deck was leveled with small scraps of wood stacked on top each other over the pier blocks. The stairs were not properly sanded, resulting in large scratches with black, red, and brown streaks. I reached out, asking the owner to address my concerns, but the owner never showed up. I waited all day for him. Without even seeing it, he said I was complaining. This was the second time he did not show up for an appointment. The first no-show was the day of my initial consultation. He said he broke his hand that day. I question this because he only had a hard cast for 6 days. A broken bone is in a cast for 3-6 weeks. I just filed a complaint with the Contractors' State Licensing Board, and his license is now suspended for 3 months. Also, the BBB has a record of what he did (he REFUSED arbitration). Hopefully this will keep him honest and teach him that he can't do shoddy work and get away with it :)
