I debated writing this review for a long time but now that I am seeing the defects in their product they sell, I have decided to write one. I signed a contract with GVD for a kitchen remodel and new electrical runs and electrical panel and a few miscellaneous repairs in October 2022, had all cabinets, countertops, tile and flooring picked out in December 2022. I was told it would take about 3 months to get started on the remodel, they started 6 months later. During this time, my electrical panel had partially failed (unable to use the AC/furnace and dryer) and needed to be replaced immediately. I notified them of the problem in March of 2023. They wouldn’t even get started on that. I was also told it would take them 1 month to complete the job, it took them 3 ½ months to finish. There were weeks where they wouldn’t come at all.
Sales rep quoted me $7k for structural wall modification, once the contractor came he gave me the price of $12k. I get that it was just a quote but it wasn’t even in the range of the actual price. The same rep gave me change order for electrical runs of $1702 before the job got started. Once the job got started, they tried to give me another change order for the exact same runs with a price of $617. I never did get an answer as to why there was such a big difference and the there was no adjustment in the original change order.
I also had them close off an old wall heater opening with drywall and texture and repair a large crack in the ceiling due to a roof replacement settling. They did texture it but did not even come close to matching the rest of the wall. They did not sand the texter down at all. You could literally leave scratch marks on your hand when you ran it over the texture. I sent the job manager a picture asking if they were going to fix it and never got a response. I had to finish their work myself. At this point I was done dealing with them and just wanted them to leave.
Since the completion of my remodel in September 2023 the grout has started to crack and the cabinet finish as started to peel. The pictures speak for themselves.
They send out a survey when the job is finished, I filled it out expressing my dissatisfaction with them and they never responded.
Summer of 2024 we were faced with a need to have a bathtub removed and replaced with a walk in shower. Time was going to be an issue so when we started looking for a contractor, we had concerns that the project could turn into a mess with promises that could not be delivered, a half-done job or shoddy efforts, possibly creating more worries and chaos.
Right from the start, with an immediate phone response to set up an appointment, Roman arrived with information and a solid and reasonable estimate. Then Alex came in to measure and within days, the demo by Eugene was done and everything ordered. As soon as the shower pan arrived, Eugene (who is a most amazing and skilled worker!) quickly constructed the panels and did the Davis upgrade required fan installation. GVD (Alex is an excellent coordinator) handled all permits and scheduling with City, another aspect that kept things running smoothly.
When a problem arose with the curtain not being able to stay in pan, both Roman and Alex were attentive to the issue and worked quickly to make it right with Roman personally coming to install a water guard.
What a pleasant outcome! GVD absolutely delivered on quality, workmanship, communication and timeliness. We are most appreciative of their efforts to please the customer and found them to be of good character and were glad to welcome them in the house. If we have another project, we would call them first and highly recommend them.

After doing some research on siding companies I decided to give GVD Renovations a call. I left them a message and the quickly gave me a call back. They asked what was the best time for me to have a sales rep come out to look at the job and give us an estimate. We agreed on a date and time which was within a couple of days from me calling.
The day of the estimate Gary McAlister came out and was on time and very professional. We walked around the project together with him pointing out what they could do for us. Gary was very easy to talk to. Within less than 24 hours Gary had a full estimate prepared for us to review. I would not hesitate to call GVD for an estimate for your project.

We recently had our siding and windows replaced by GVD Renovations. After getting quotes from five companies, GVD stood out for their competitive pricing and willingness to work with our needs. Choosing them turned out to be an excellent decision. The crew that worked on my house was fantastic. They were incredibly efficient and completed the job in a timely manner, minimizing disruption to my daily routine. They also kept the worksite clean and organized throughout the project. The city inspector who did the inspections even praised them for their high-quality work! This gave us immense peace of mind and confirmed our initial impression. The new siding has completely transformed the look and feel of our house! We are so happy with the final product.

My initial experience with GBD was shaky but as the products came in and, Alex, my project manager, became involved my impression improved drastically. Alex managed the total kitchen renovation installation methodically and quickly, and kept me informed throughout. The installers were neat, kind and professional. I am thrilled with my new kitchen. Thank you Alex and your staff for a job very well done!
