Gregory is fantastic to work with. He is knows his stuff utterly and completely, bends over backwards to help make matches or lend out samples or work out a timing schedule that works for the customer. He is also fun and interesting to talk to! I have always gone to California Carpet for my carpet and rug needs and will continue to do so. Highly recommend.

We would not recommend their service to any of our friends or family. We got our carpet installed on August 20, 2021. Their installer (1) did not glue the padding to concrete floor, even though we paid for such service, and (2) broke a transition piece, left a 1.5 inch gap in the floor. As of today (Jan 12, 2022), California carpet still has NOT fixed the two issues: (1) gluing my carpet padding to the concrete floor. The carpet SHIFTS when we walk on it and it SHIFTS when vacuum the carpeted area; (2) the transition piece between the carpet and hardwood floor that their installer broke, which left a 1.5” wide gap on my floor as shown in the attached photo. We ordered carpet and padding from this store in July and got the carpet installed on August 20th. The sales person described to us: the padding will need to be glued to our concrete floor (after studying the diagram of bedrooms and closets that their measurements person provided), and the installation persons were licensed to do the job. They charged us half of the total cost upfront. Upon chatting with the installation persons, none of them was licensed. If they did a good job, we would not mind that they were not licensed. On August 20th, during installation, the installation lead refused to do the closets and told us not enough padding and we had to call the store and go to the store to buy more. So I dialed the store. The lead saw I was actually calling the store, he immediately told me to hang up, may be he could find some scrap to fill the closet space. He did find 5 times the padding the closet space needed. After the installation persons left. I called Mark to report that the padding was not glued to the concrete floor as described to us (even though we were invoiced for such work preparation), and the installation person broke a transition piece between hardwood floor and carpet area and left 1.5” gap there. He explained: glued does not mean glue over the whole surface, it can be zigzag glued to hold the padding down to prevent shifting and bubbling. I told him it’s not zigzag glued either. At this point he got really mad over the phone and told me the padding I purchased was heavy, and it did not need to be glued to concrete floor; and the installation job was 1st class! I saw that over the phone I could not get my message through, so I went to the store the following day to show them the broken transition piece and a photo of my floor with the gap. I sent the photo to the store. We sent them a follow up email on August 23rd asking them please fix those issues before charging the remaining amount. We did not hear from them, and they went ahead charged us the remaining. Few days later, still, not a word from the carpet place.

I am Interior Designer, and I buy all of my hardwood flooring from California Carpet. The customer service there is unparalleled. They've bent over backwards to get products for me at the best deals that anyone can offer. For the residential end, I work with David, Geoff, or Greg, who are knowledgable and make themselves available to provide info (even on off days.) For commercial flooring, I work with Felix or Rose, who again are an incredible resource of knowledge on brands of commercial carpet, LVT and hard floorings. Always my first stop with clients!
