Overall

The order counter staff is asleep on the job. Not only did they add $500 worth of product to my order that wasn't mine, they ignored me for over 25 minutes (the lady was busy flirting with another customer), forgot the toe kick, got my name wrong on the paperwork and the number of knobs I requested (2x). They also didn't tell me that an item I ordered was discontinued. The worse part - the manager was stepping in and making all the errors. My contractor is picking up the product now. I might have to update this depending on what he brings back ??‍♀️.

There is no love for the customer at this place. Be advised.

I was here to pick up a vanity for a customer of mine. They have a process of opening boxes to check for defects. When I pointed out some defects, the reply I got was "this is one of our lower end of product lines and most of them are going to be this way". I asked to see 2 more, which the did accomidate. They too had scratches, poorly made. The cost for this vanity was $2200.00. The product was made of particle board. Wish my customer consulted with me before the purchase. Between four cabinets, I was able to have a them swap out a door with another to make a cabinet acceptable. They accomidated me, but I feel like they will rebox and pull again for another customer. When I ask a question of one of the staffers, who appeared to be calling the shots, he just ignored me completely. In my experience as a general contractor, there are plenty of better choices to purchase better quality cabinets for less then what you can find here

Absolute worst customer service. Bought a sink, had it professionally installed, and noticed it has a micro crack. They didn't want to refund or offer a trade or anything. They don't stand behind what they sell and blame the manufacturer. Will not reccomend to anyone that values their money.

I wanted to share what an excellent experience I continue to have with Builders Surplus. Starting with Aranza who did the floor plan for the kitchen. My high compliments for doing a great job on our layout.

I also would like everyone to know how much I appreciate the guys in the back who make it all happen. First off, Carl Jr. who takes care of all the transactions to prepare orders. Carl has always welcomed me with a smile. He is the guy with glasses on my pictures.

Then, the crew that brings out all the items. They bring out all items and unpackage them to make sure that I am happy with the face, doors and alignments of all cabinets. It is like an assembly production. After I checked all items they package each one back up with tape and padding to load up.

They loaded up the entire U-Haul truck with great care. Big compliments to Jose and Michael who look the time and care to package everything so at the long drive in traffic would not damage any of the cabinets. Look at the photos. The cabinets filled an entire 15” truck up to 5ft.

Builders Surplus is always full of contractors and the loading docks are always busy. I highly recommend anyone to take the time to drive out to Santa Ana to see what beautiful remodeling items they have.

We looked all over for kitchen vanities. I went to all the local stores and they did not have any options that came with just a vanity. Luckily, we found Builders Surplus. It was a dive to Santa Ana but it was completely worth it. Aranza S helped me out. She did an excellent job with recommendations and styles. We got the Artic white cabinet with slow closing doors. The place was filled with contractors and many customers. When you make your purchase, you go to the loading docks for the crew to open up your purchase to make sure that it is not damaged and that you are happy. It does add a bit of time but it is completely worth it.

They don’t take credit cards for purchases. Make sure you take a personal check or cash.

Highlights: they have kitchen cabinets that are bare so as to make them any color, stain or appearance to fit you décor. Led bathroom mirrors that are beautiful.

Builders surplus has excellent service and quality.

Purchased a whole set of kitchen cabinets in the dark gray slate. So far so good. Was in the process of buying them and found out the price was lower than the paper stated. Always good. Now we are installing them and they are working out ok. A few issues but nothing major.

This place is GREAT! If you are a homeowner looking for very affordable bath and kitchen materials and need them quickly like same day, this place is perfect! You have choices of modern, traditional, contemporary, etc. They accept debit cards, cash, and check (not lines of credit, which is what some contractors are complaining about...) After paying, you go to the pickup line, they tell you which Dock # to park, and then they load the items FOR YOU in your car (Such a big help!). There are no returns and exchanges (which i can understand the place is busy and returns would be insane to deal with) so make sure during pickup time, you go and inspect the items for damage or issues and you should be fine. I loved the process and how organized they are. Its super busy so try in morning times to avoid crowds and get assistance from sales associates. ?

Been to Builder's Surplus twice. Both times I was not a knowledged by store associates. If i needed help, I had to go seek somebody to get the help that I needed. On another note, their selection of bathroom vanities is stupendous. I needed a vanity with drawers on the left and they had it when other stores only had drawers on the right. Amazing how deep their selection is. Don't necessarily like their sales policy of "no refunds", "all sales final". I wonder how they would treat you if you special order something and it turns out that something is wrong because of their screw-up. Will they make exceptions in the interest of keeping the customer happy?
