I recently had the pleasure of working with Garrett Peterson at Flat and Fancy Concrete Company to install a swale in my gravel driveway and regrade the entire area. I am thoroughly impressed with the outstanding job they did.
From Garrett's initial consultation to the final touches, the process was seamless. James, the foreman on the crew, demonstrated exceptional expertise and professionalism. He took the time to explain the plan, answer all my questions, and ensure that I was comfortable with the work being done.
The crew was punctual, efficient, and meticulous in their work. They not only installed the swale perfectly but also did an excellent job of regrading the driveway. The attention to detail was evident, and the result exceeded my expectations.
Flat and Fancy Concrete Company showed a genuine commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need of concrete work. Special thanks to James and his team for a job well done!
Our new concrete walkway from the garage to the front door has transformed the entry to our home. Garrett provided so many ideas to help me settle on what to do with our project. HIs input was invaluable. Communicating with Garrett is quick and easy as too.

We called Flat & Fancy , because of their reputation and length of time in the community. Garrett set up an appointment and reviewed the project to replace a few sections of concrete on our walkway that had lifted from tree roots and were cracked. He followed up promptly with a written estimate and photos of the areas to be replaced. Appointment was scheduled within a few weeks, the crew showed up on time, got the work done, cleaned up and were finished within one day. This was especially important since we are also a bed and breakfast business. I would recommend when you want reliable quality concrete service.

Flat and Fancy poured a stamped concrete patio for us the last week of September 2022. I worked with the foreman on the project and picked out colors from paint block examples he had provided. This was done in hopes of coming close to our existing patio/walkway. After completion, I contacted Garrett and asked about the color because it was not what I had picked out. He assured me that it would take 4-6 weeks to completely dry and the true color would come through. It snowed a lot in our area over the winter and our patio was partially covered throughout the winter. We shoveled walking paths and as much as we could but there were areas that were covered in snow for a long period of time. When the snow finally dissipated in early April, I contacted Garrett to let him know that we were unhappy with the color as well as areas of significant flaking and overall poor workmanship - specifically at the joints of the stamped areas and the fading of the stamp as the patio went towards the house. When I communicated my concerns, Garrett stated that we did not care for the patio appropriately over the winter which caused "premature failure of the sealer," that I chose the color and that the "hard lines" from the stamps are a result of "concrete characteristics." I told him that the flaking is present where we shoveled as well as under the where the snow sat and yes, I did pick the color and it is nothing like the examples. Garrett never once offered to come up and take a look at the patio and address our concerns. This patio was a dream of ours and has been a complete waste of hard earned money. Now we have to save more money to have it fixed. I will never recommend Flat and Fancy to anyone. I am 100% disappointed in the patio and Garrett was not in the least bit concerned about it. I'll just leave the photos here and you all can make your own judgement about the workmanship. These are the same photos that I provided to Flat and Fancy.
I am now responding to the owner’s response below. I did state that I picked the color out and that it did not match in any way to the color I chose.
I absolutely did not bash the other contractor that did the original patio. That is an outright lie. I hired Flat and Fancy because they are a concrete company and just wanted a patio.
I also mentioned in the original post that the flaking occurred where we did shovel and not just under the snow.
Garrett, I emailed you and stated that no other company had touched the patio and that you are welcome to come up and discuss it but I did not get a response from you. We cannot afford to fix it yet and have yet to do so.
Adding a bit more - my husband and I have remodeled our house from top to bottom over the last 7 years and this is the only company we have had an issue with. Honestly, Garrett, you show what kind of business you are with your response.

Don't hire these guys! I hired Flat and Fancy based on good ratings to pour a concrete patio for me and could not be less satisfied with Garrett's response to my concerns. The surface of the concrete was so rough for a patio that my family cannot safely walk on it barefoot or play on it. We asked Garrett to smooth it down some and his response was to tell me it was "perfect" and that he would only smooth it down for an extra charge. I will tell anyone to avoid this company because of the boss. The men worked hard and meant well, despite Garrett approving the finish, but the surface was unacceptable to me and Garrett says "the customer is not always right" when it comes to satisfaction. Garrett was not at all willing to meet us in an agreeable way and ended our conversation with a demand for full payment by the end of the week. That's real great customer service for an unsatisfactory job!
As for my grandson "playing" on the concrete, that is incorrect. He certainly did walk on the concrete barefoot but you did not hear his complaints in the house when you left that the concrete hurt his feet. I have pictures to show the depth of the grooves and the overall rough surface of the the patio. I understand that you don't want to expend the effort or expense to satisfy the customer, so my review stands. You expect me to pay thousands of dollars for a product that I'm not satisfied with. I would not recommend you to another person. Your disdain for my satisfaction is enough for me.

Contracted for concrete patio demolition one week and re-pour the following week. Dealt with Garrett for estimates, quote and project updates. Prices were higher than expected, but quotes for similar companies were in the same range.
The company was professional in project execution in all aspects.
Crews arrived on scheduled times, they were efficient in their work, and work was completed within projected timelines. Professional communications back and forth throughout, and timely responses to my questions were delivered.
Patio looks very good, clean up was completed, and final pricing adhered to the quoted price.
Can easily recommend Flat and Fancy based on this experience.

In Colorado Springs, Flat & Fancy is second to none for craftsmanship, durability, aesthetics, and professional service. I requested three quotes for a driveway and front stoop overhaul. Of the three quotes, Flat & Fancy was the highest by $550. This did not deter me from pursuing Flat & Fancy, however. My primary concern is durability, longevity, and prompt customer service. After reading several of the reviews for other concrete companies, it become clear that Ray (the owner) and his crew operate on a completely different level. Having personally worked for a concrete company in the past that prided itself on the same metrics as Flat & Fancy, I can honestly say that Flat & Fancy is an admirable business that prides itself on customer service and craftsmanship.
Leading up to the project, Flat & Fancy kept me informed of possible weather-related delays and project related information. On the day of the project, Ray arrived promptly with his crew, briefed me on the project, then oversaw the operation. Ray and his crew are consummate professionals. Ray's crew were courteous, respectful, and extremely hard working. My expectations were exceeded.
To summarize, Flat & Fancy should be your #1 choice if you desire quality work and professional service. Sure, it's slightly more expensive than the competitors, but in my opinion well worth it. Read the reviews of the other concrete companies (especially as it relates to customer service) and you will likely come to the same conclusion as I did.
