My generator arrived damage-free and promptly. Delivery was excellent and the generator was packaged well. There was initially a discrepancy in pricing, but it was immediately corrected. Colorado Standby was my best option for purchasing and shipping to the Gulf Coast. The price, shipping, and customer service exceeded my expectations.

I called to inquire about getting service on my portable generator. They had me fill out and submit a service request form. Received a short email a few days later suggesting I consult the manufacturer (Cummins) which I thought was odd. I responded clarifying this was not a warranty or manufacturer issue and that I was merely needing testing/repair service for my portable generator. They responded by saying they are booked up for 6 months. They could have told me that up front before making me jump through the request form hoop. They clearly do not want small jobs. Do not recommend.

Bought a Cummins generator and a transfer switch for our home from them. But…Forget about service after the sale. They won’t talk with you. The emails say they are 6-8 months out for service, but you are told to check back in 6-8 months. Avoid this company!

I recommend checking with Colorado Standby first for your needs. They located parts that I was finding difficult to locate elsewhere. I needed to replace the internal control boards for two victron lithium batteries. One battery would recover. The other was uncertain. Both batteries are now operational. The one in question had a bad cell. It is now slowly building up voltage. Thank you Stevan at Colorado Standby.

The whole team was absolutely awesome. I called Angie and told her about our remote location and snowfall and needing to get new error messages and service done before roads became impassable. She got us scheduled in quickly for emergency work. And then the tech figured out that the original installer didn’t actually install the generator to the high altitude/for the elevation which was causing one of the problems for our off grid system. He was amazing, and I’d recommend them in a heartbeat. Well worth their pricing for type of service and knowledge.
