We hired James Duran and Phoenix to perform excavation and foundation for our home building company. Unfortunately, we didn't realize he subcontracted out the foundation portion of the work until we had a lien put on our project by the subcontractor. James told us it was his crew. We paid James in full and he signed our lien waiver and then we discovered he didn't pay his subcontractor when the intent to lien was filed. . He admitted this and then committed to paying him but still hasn't paid. Now, he has disappeared. Neither I nor the subcontractor can reach him. He won't return phone calls or emails. I recommend that you avoid them at all cost or you may end up in the same situation.
