We are absolutely thrilled with our new kitchen from Better Built! Not only is it gorgeous, but the new layout they helped us plan is SO much better and more functional! We wanted a company that would do everything, and they did -- from demolition to adjusting the height of the shelves. All we had to do was clear out the kitchen and then put the stuff back again. They had samples of all the materials -- countertop, cabinets, flooring, backsplash, paint -- at their shop so we didn't have to shop around for it. They gave us a completion date of 2 months and actually finished a week ahead of schedule. We highly recommend Better Built Kitchens and Basements.

I had the bathroom on the main floor of a 1950s ranch completely remodeled, as well as a complete basement finish all during the COVID pandemic. Everyone who worked on the house was skilled, professional, and very willing to answer my questions. We had some supply chain issues but the company was able to maintain flexibility by switching crews around to work on tasks ahead of schedule. They always kept me informed via their project management website so I could see that work was proceeding despite delayed arrival of orders. The total delay was around 45 days - and this all happened during the last Omicron surge of the virus and a few snowstorms. I was very impressed. I'm thrilled with the results. I now have the bathroom of my dreams and a beautiful, functional, and comfortable basement.

What can I say these folks are the best in the business not only did our basement come out beautiful but they were great all around. There was one issue that took place the demo bumped our new dryer. The folks replaced our dryer no hassle at all. I will recommend them to anyone who is in the market for a basement remodel. We will use them again to add a bathroom below. GREAT WORK!

Following a visit to receive an estimate from Better Built, we were very impressed with what they had to offer. We were excited to work with them but found their estimate to be $10-12,000 more than other contractors. When I called the estimator to ask for the estimate to be fleshed out a bit more so I could understand the significantly higher cost, he said he really could not provide more detail as the computer spat out the estimate and he didn’t know how the computer determined the cost. When pushed, said he would try, but he never called back. After waiting an additional two weeks I called and asked to speak with the owners so I could try again to clarify the estimate and contract with the company. They never called back either. Perhaps Better Built is so busy they can pick and choose their customers and projects, but I was very disappointed with how they responded to a very interested potential customer

Very professional company. Good quality and although they were not the cheapest quote we received, I feel that we got good value for the dollar and they worked with us on the pricing for a renovation of a 5x7 bathroom and some other small renovations. Here are some other positives: 1. They are a full-service group with all the necessary tradespeople. Right now, this is very important because I've heard of people who get stuck half way through a job because sub-contractors aren't showing up. 2. They also seem to mean it when they say they are loyal to their customers which is definitely worth something when you are deciding what company you want to work with. Specifically, we used them previously do renovate our basement and had an electrical issue over a year later that had nothing to do with their work. My wife was in a panic because it was a Sunday and the night before a winter holiday so she called the Better Built electrician. Despite him also being away on vacation, the man answered her call, diagnosed the problem, and told us what to tell the electric company to get the problem fixed. 3. We ran into an issue with a faulty plumbing part and Better Built had to come back to fix it. This is where you can see some companies ghost you after they have your money, but we contacted Better Built on Friday and they had a plumber out on Monday morning to fix the problem which seems to be set (fingers crossed). Maybe negatives??: 1. They don't help you pick out fixtures, paint, etc. which some companies will do. Some people may see this as a negative because it can be difficult and time-consuming for things like fixtures to identify what looks good but won't last, etc. 2.Better Built is very focused on timelines. This is typically good for the homeowner and understandable because they have jobs lined up. But it can also reduce flexibility a bit. That is, rather than creatively problem solve (which can take time), they tend to default to what they know will work from experience but may not always be exactly what the homeowner wants. My only advice here is that is there is something you really want (or want done in a particular way) then stick to your guns politely. I have included a few pics of the "after" for the bathroom and a "before" and "after" of the fireplace facelift they did at the same time.

We had Better Built renovate our basement 4 1/2 years ago and they did such a great job! We use that room every day and have had no issues with it after all this time. We recently had them come back for a bathroom remodel and a few other miscellaneous jobs in the house including updates to closets and the fireplace. Once again they did a very high quality job - we’re so happy with how everything turned out! Any issues get resolved right away and we heard more than once “we want you to be happy”. I also like that they work out the price before they start with no surprises at the end. They showed up when they said they would and the guys all worked very hard and truly cared about doing a good job. I can’t say enough good things about them and will definitely have them come back again!
