UPDATE 10/24/23 - I was able to establish contact with a Customer Care Coordinator, who has been great with responsive communications. Although residential systems are no longer at the core of CTEC's business model (so I was told), I was grateful for their support. Why I previously had to go through a "blackout" of no comms from CTEC, I do not know. I'd like to be optimistic about the relationship, given my most recent interactions with them. ORIGINAL REVIEW - Non-existent customer service, after the installation. My calls to Service are sent to voicemail, with no call back. Interestingly, calls to the Operator are routed to the same voicemail box (same person's name). CTEC did a wonderful installation some years ago, then repeatedly failed to even acknowledge me as a customer. It's sad... they used to be so good, but they offer me no choice than to send my business elsewhere. Buyer beware.

This company feels like they don't care, at all, about the residential customers they picked up in the 2014 timeframe. For reference, I paid $25,000 for this system and was told (at the time): "In the 25 year period you will save over $36,643!!!". Yeah right (!). Few examples - my system has never performed as advertised. I had/have cracks in the panels and had limited/no support. I've had whole times where the system was offline and just noticed (so the monitoring doesn't work) and when I had them come out, for an electrical fault, I was told they just disconnect panels and don't even try to replace/fix them. I just recently had to go back and forth for them to replace the older 3G monitoring device. They missed appointments, were very short over Email, and didn't even tell me if/when it was done (until I asked). It doesn't seem to be working because the GT Green Bank / SolarNOC portal doesn't have usage information.

Has any CTEC customer achieved their expected annual kWh savings? For the second year in a row the panels installed will generate less than 90% of the engineered design. CTEC guarantees as low as 80% of designed production. The system seems to be designed to generate between 80-90% of the guaranteed annual kwh. Given this design the financials for solar power using CTEC don’t appear to be worthwhile. When I inquired about the shortfall last year I was told that the panels do better in the second year. I’ve spoken with neighbors who installed the Tesla system and they’re over achieving their contract.

C-TEC did a great job with the install of my 6k system. Little bit of challenge with the consumption terminal and power return alarm we had in our main breaker panel, but Aaron did great job getting it all work together. Mike the project manager was pleasant to work with and always returned any of my issues, questions i had. Sales rep Tyler was GREAT, from start to end, he followed up from initial quote all the way to the end of install and correction. I highly recommend C-TEC for being very competitive with pricing, benefits and services. They are more of local company and easy to reach specific reps if needed. They are very quick on rectifying problems unlike the larger companies that i have heard and read about. If anyone reading my review has any questions feel free to contact me and i will answer any questions. UPDATE: 22FEB17 Found out i am not eligible for the Credit due to low income tax bracket. Nothing on the contract about eligibility either. Wish it was explained better and have it in writing even though i gave him my financial examples. They say it was guaranteed, but unless i make substantial more money, i will never see it. So i basically paid the entire thing with cash and loans. Its not worth it to buy if you are low income family. They kinda seems only interested the sale. I also called them but they blame the buyer and said they will call me and that was 2 weeks ago. UPDATE: June 08,2017. Mr. Jeff Pipeling contacted me sometimes ago to clear up the problem. He was very reasonable and pleasant to deal with. He did the best he possibly could given the circumstances we were in, but he was able to resolve my issue and took my suggestion seriously. I am very happy with the customer service of C-TEC Solar and their system.

C-tec consulted, designed, and installed my rooftop system. I had an excellent experience working with them. They led me through the process and explained different options for financing, installation, and redemption of solar credits. The installation team was fast and friendly and the work is top notch. I would highly recommend C-tec to anyone considering going solar!!!!
