Super efficient! Just follow the staff who wave you in when you arrive. They asked what items I had (metals go in a separate place) and then pointed me to a parking spot where I tossed my stuff. There was no wait on a Wednesday afternoon.

You can get composted soil here if you are a DC resident. They will ask for an ID.

You would think a municipal dump in a major metro would be a horrible place… SUPRISE. It’s super easy, the employees are helpful and nice. Excellent operation.

The DC dump is free. I’ve been going for years most of the time people of privilege drive past and there’s 20 to 30 cars in line this happens probably 4 to 5 times an hour. The people are probably tired of telling people you cannot go past the line why do you think the cars are there?

Did not have a good experience. No signage, got yelled at for going straight to dump, and instead told to back up in a tight space which my vehicle did not fit into. Three stars because I did achieve my objective, but it was not worth the hassle for two bags of trash. You do need a DC driver's license to use the dump and be prepared to wait in line, that will manage expectations.
