Overall

We had a concrete slab and second story deck replaced by Deck Pro. Frank was very helpful in mapping out exactly how the process would flow and what the deck would look like. The building team took about 6 days to finish the deck. They took a lot of care to build it well and it shows! The deck is beautiful and we are so happy with it. The crew was also very friendly and helpful in answering our questions. Frank came out to check on the work periodically too. We are excited to enjoy our summer on our new beautiful deck!

I would love to post a great review about the company because I absolutely love my deck. I had a chance to meet the owner and he seems to be a nice guy. I saved up for years to have my deck replaced. After the work was done, then I started to noticed some of the quality in the work. I have a fairly large deck that feels like a trampoline when someone walks on it because it bounces. The railings are not straight. The stairs are so steep that I have a hard time walking down. The workers did not clean up daily and left boards wit nails sticking up in my yard that I ended up stepping on one and had to get a tetanus shot. I reported but they did not pay for the medical bill. Now its hard to get them back since other larger jobs takes priority.

I am editing this post 4 months later to let everyone know that I still have not received any updates from this company after multiple phone calls and promises. You all make your own decision but I suggest getting the work permitted. They constantly make excuses. Yea I understand its hard to get workers but take care of paid customers first or give me my money back. Right now I can't fully use this product and will not jeopardize my family's safety.

A family in our neighborhood used this company for their new deck. The work was beautiful and they received many compliments from the neighbors. We decided to redesign our deck and use this company also. That was 3 years ago and we have been very pleased. It has aged well and David does a fantastic job with painting it. I highly recommend Deck Pro!

Frank Fore came out and gave us an honest and good quote to completely rebuild our second story back deck and extended it the length of the house. He even helped to think about the design of the deck, adding a wonderful new landing and stair area to the side of our home. They also replaced our covered front porch. Throughout the build of both the deck and porch, Joseph, Corey and the crew were great and any issues that we experienced along the way were promptly dealt with and corrected. We absolutely love the finished product. Stellar.

Frank Fore, owner of Deck Pro, by his own admission is a big talker. He is an effective salesman and had some good recommendations which we followed. Once we signed the contract with Deck Pro, I never saw Frank again, even though I am retired and was at home when most of the work was being done.

The men that actually built our deck and screened porch for Deck Pro were Jeff Hull and Patrick. They completed the job in mid March 2019. They did an excellent job, and we were very happy with the results; however, I have been told that they no longer work for Deck Pro.

As with any projects there are invariably some things that go wrong, and I believe how a company backs up its product is the best indicator of the quality of that company. The gate on the grill deck was part of the original agreement, but, when it began to sag and would not latch, I called Deck Pro and was told that the gate was not covered under the warranty. We noticed that water was leaking in under the eaves of the screened porch so I started trying to get in touch with Frank in November. Each time I called, the lady told me that he was not available but that she would have him call me. I have never gotten a call back from Deck Pro. Since the job was completed just over a year ago, it seems we are stuck with paying someone else to make the repairs.

I would recommend Jeff Hull and Patrick; however, I would not recommend having a job contracted with Deck Pro.

Started out good - showed up the very next day after writing the contract late Thursday evening. They ripped out the old deck and put in the new frame. So within 24 hours we paid 60% of the price (30% down Thursday night and 30% Friday after the frame is put in - minus posts). They showed up on Saturday and started digging holes for the posts and put in a few with concrete but did not fill to grade (why? did they run out of concrete). They came back on Monday and started putting decking down and almost finished up on Tuesday but wanted to know if it was okay to pay another 30% with the promise they'd be back on Wednesday to finish the decking. So now they have 90% of the money with most of the deck boards down and part of the staircase and midway landing in place. They come back Thursday and put treads down, finish the decking, and put the final stringers in plus a few treads. They don't come back until Monday. The owner comes out Tuesday to see the work done and I show him that they back filled the post holes with red clay (a big no-no), the railing posts had holes pre-drilled for lag screws but the holes are too far apart (the top hole is above the deck!). When the two guys finished up this past Saturday night, I had to point out the missing holes for the second lag screws so that took an additional two hours. Anyway the details to the railings were pretty sloppy - bad joins, poor drilled holes, cracks in the wood, a big void in one of the posts, missing hidden fastener, sloppy work done on putting the vinyl siding back up on the house, etc. Just very sloppy on finish work. We paid the final 10% just to get them out of our hair. I would give them a fair grade because of this. Certainly not excellent and probably not "good" either.

I added a few photos of the poor detail work.
