One of the best, if not the very best, company I have ever worked with. I had three previous repair appointments with American Elevator and at each costly (to me) visit I was told that they couldn't find anything wrong with my residential elevator although it would intermittently fail to work properly.
I have heart failure and am not able to use the stairs. Their last ($$$) visit the American Elevator technician changed the sensors because he couldn't find anything else that would explain the malfunction.

When the problem continued and I no longer felt safe using the elevator, they gave me yet another appointment to return. I would have to wait another two weeks!
I decided to look elsewhere for a solution. Friends recommended Genesis Elevator and although their rates were higher than American
Elevator, I felt that I did not have an alternative.

I contacted Stu Gordon with Genesis. He couldn't have been more helpful and was able to get a technician out to my home with a day or two. Stu assured me that they would work through the problem with me.
and not leave me in an unsafe situation.

My technician, Dan, arrived exactly on the day and time that we had scheduled. He was professional and extremely thorough. He identified
a loose electrical wire which he repaired. Within a couple of days the malfunction resumed.

Stu put his whole team on a series of conference calls to investigate
possible solutions. I was relieved that they wouldn't leave me in the lurch after charging hundred and hundreds of dollars as American Elevator had done. Dan was back within two days, found the problem components, replaced them and didn't leave until he assured himself that it was truly
fixed.
Genesis Elevator company ethics, service and expertise are exceptional.They work as a team, they genuinely care about their customers and are committed to providing the highest levels of expertise.

Go with Genesis. In the end the "cheaper" service charges are not worth it!!

If we could leave ZERO stars, we would. Run from this company. We had a safety issue with our elevator in our home. We called them immediately, expressed our concern and that it was urgent. It took them a while to come out, but when they did, they said they could fix the safety issue with what they called a customized baffle. The safety issue was a 9 inch gap between doors where pets or children could get stuck. HUGE safety concern. So, they charge us almost $2000 to diagnose, measure, order, and install the baffle. Again, we expressed the urgency, but it took them MONTHS to order it, and when they were finally scheduled to put it in, the morning of, we get a voicemail that the worker is in Cambodia for 2 weeks…. Ok. So we wait and wait more. Then, they come install it. I was not home and when I finally got home to see it, this baffle that was supposed to resolve this urgent safety concern, was only TWO inches wide to fill the 9 inch gap… the installer left, thinking this was ok and safe. It was NEITHER. Furthermore, I’ve had to spend hours of my time on the phone trying to get them to make this right or refund. Turns out there’s a “nationwide baffle issue” and it’s not “their fault” — so it’s the customers fault I guess?!?! Laughable. So, I finally got them to refund $1600 but they want us to pay $250 for them diagnosing the baffle. I expected them to give us a CREDIT, not charge us for this whole ordeal. I’ve been on the phone and email countless times with Tina - she’s just given me the number to her manager Major Horton. I will update if this gets resolved further but this has been a nightmare of an experience. Do not recommend!!! This pic shows the baffle to the door gap of 7 inches. They told us there would be NO gap and our safety issue would be resolved. They do not perform or communicate or provide customer service well.

This company gouges you in every way. You pay annual maintenance for what? Any issues in year are on top of the annual charge. What is a trip charge? $346 - even if NO issues are found. I had a home inspector falsely report that the elevator had a hydraulic leak. The guy showed up 4 hours late to our scheduled appointment and was in my house 10 mins. I was charged $346! I disputed it and they gave me zero concessions. I told the new owners to choose any other company. Ridiculous.

I have a residential elevator which was not working. I had another company try unsuccessfully several times to repair it and was ultimately told that it would require a significant modification or overhaul which was going to be very expensive. I contacted Stu at Genesis who sent Husani out to look at the elevator and see what they could do. Husani had the elevator fixed and running like new within a couple of hours of his arrival. And the repair was done at a price not even comparable to the amount the modification was going to cost. I am very grateful for their expertise and their professionalism. I highly recommend their company to anyone who might be in need of their services. Thank you Stu and Husani.

They dont know what they are doing. Repeat same issues and elevator keep breaking down. They are very prompt on billing but not able to explain why repeat issues and elevator keep breaking. Techs are arrogant and dont stop by before leaving if they fixed issue or coming back, will just pack up & leave.

We have been clients of the company for well over ten years. Business alts change sometimes for the better and sometimes not.When we started we did an ever six months maintenance agreement. As it turned out we had to pay a trip charge for any break down of the elevator of $200. Maintenance person live about 15 minutes from service. We got a new contract that we paid total amount for a year. Sometimes no service was needed or given which was ok elevator working fine. We had yearly checkup about three weeks ago. Elevator again was working fine, now it is not. Called this morning 11/26 because elevator not working and was told it would cost $400.to check. That’s maintenance robbery. It is a third of what the yearly contract is.Businesses are in the business to make profit s and that is understandable. But are elevators only supposed to work m-f. If we need to pay like that then based on how well the elevator usually works I think we need a refund and just pay when we need service. Not pleased at all. Disabled person can’t access other floors.Again I think the milk in this situation is Very Sour.

Installed our second Genesis Elevator a year ago. We have had to call to repair breakdowns 4 times in a year. No one ever answers the phone, always an answering service and we are charged everytime.

I highly recommend using another provider.

The service was excellent. The tech Dan was extremely knowledgeable, and professional. I will feel very safe and confident after his preventative maintenance as I use my elevator daily. He was extremely thorough and corrected some issues. Dan was also very pleasant as well as committed to ensuring my elevator was safe and functioning perfect. I will continue to stay with genesis as I will now be switching from my previous elevator company.

They were prompt, professional and courteous. Their work ethic is something we rarely see anymore and it was greatly appreciated.
