Update 6/28: After contacting 72 Degrees, they worked with me to resolve the issues with the below service call, truly going above and beyond to make sure I was happy. The tech that did our original work on 6/16 returned and made things right. My rating has been upgraded based on the service after this original review was left.

This feedback is about a service call done on Sunday, June 16th, and only posted here after two failed attempts to contact the company (their website chat was unresponsive, and an email to their office has gone unanswered for 48 hours). I've been a 72 Degrees customer for over 10 years and wanted an opportunity to resolve this issue before posting a review, but after no response, here we are.

Our outside AC unit was not turning on. The house was continuing to warm up, and my wife and I chose to call for a service visit. We understood that the Sunday service call would be an additional $50 beyond the usual service call charge. My concern is with several aspects of the service.

First, our technician did a good job of tracking the issue to a failed capacitor. After some research, I understand that this is a common issue. He was polite and thorough and explained what was happening, replacing the capacitor. We have AC now, and thus the reason for a second star instead of a one-star rating for this service.

The following Sunday (6/23), as I was mowing the lawn on the side of the house with the AC unit, I discovered the box the capacitor came in lying in the grass about 20 ft from the unit. I would have expected the tech to clean up after himself.

At that point, I looked at the side of the outside unit and noted the screws holding the bottom of the unit's panel were not correctly attached, and threaded into the panel at an off angle. Concerned about these two developments, I opened the side of the unit to find the new capacitor in place but without a screw attaching the capacitor's hold-down strap to the unit. Nothing was solidly securing the new part.

Recently had a whole system replacement. Todd was great walking through the different options giving the varied pluses and minuses and answering questions. After the initial consult he was very responsive getting back to me on follow on questions.

Pat and Josiah were excellent on the install. They worked quickly and efficiently even dealing with my furnace space that needed a few things moved around. Both made sure to answer questions about the finished system and walked me through it all.

Is Holt plumbing and heating the same as 72°? I noticed that my next appointment is scheduled in April of next year. Do you no longer come twice a year and if so, what is the fee on a going forward basis?

First of all, we have used 72 degrees for 7 or 8 years and never had a bad experience. We had another company come out and also give us a quote.The quotes were comfortable and 72° was maybe $120 less. But I liked that a portion of the installation fee goes to the nonprofit Green Beret which helps veterans. Additionally, when Keith came out to give us a quote he never made a single disparaging comment about the competition. I like companies whose quality speaks for itself without having to put anyone else down.
Our air conditioner and furnace were 18 years old so they came out several times in an emergency situation to fix one of those things, and they were always here in less than 24 hours. We have always been impressed with the friendliness and professional manner in which this company conducts itself so when it was time to replace the air conditioner and furnace Knew that we could trust 72° to do a good job and stand by their work.

I wanted to update this now that everything has been installed-Chad and David did a great job! They were friendly, professional, and helpful. They cleaned up everything when they were done and were also very nice with my 18 month old puppy who very badly wanted to join in on the install :)

Again, I would highly recommend
