We recently had our wooden deck replaced with composite decking by 4th Generation Construction, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From the outset, Ovi and his team were incredibly professional. They provided a detailed proposal, complete with informative pamphlets and proof of insurance, which gave us confidence in their work.
Ovi consistently followed through, calling and emailing exactly when he said he would. When it came time for construction, the crew was punctual every day and ensured that the work site was cleaned up at the end of each day, even while the job was still in progress.
The craftsmanship of the new deck is impeccable. We absolutely love our new deck and highly recommend 4th Generation Construction and Ovi for anyone considering deck work. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly set them apart.
Excellent quality work. Quick and responsive communications. Ovi runs a highly professional business. His team built a new front porch (ours was falling apart), which has improved the curb appeal of our house substantially. Highly recommend.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience with Ovi and 4th Generation Construction. During the planning process, he listened to what we wanted (a more modern redesign of our deck space) and provided us with plans that matched what we were looking for. We did a complete redesign that included new composite decking, a pergola build, and a wood stain after the lumber had a chance to settle. Our deck went from honestly a safety hazard to a stunning spot we love! It's my new happy place! Throughout the entire process, Ovi was patient while we deliberated and responsive when we were ready to execute, and the crews were wonderful - talented, fast, and respectful. Couldn't recommend more.

I love Ovi and his team. It was late October 2020, and the old deck on my SFH was becoming a leaning house of cards. It needed to be completely demolished and rebuilt before the first winter snow or I feared it would topple into my neighbor’s yard.
4GC was the third quote I got. His quote was monetarily consistent with the others I’d gotten, however, Ovi was the clear winner because he not only said they could get the job done before it got cold (even though they were very busy – everyone seemed to be) but he was the ONLY person I consulted who came up with a simple-yet-brilliant solution to a problematic flaw in the design of the original deck. Not ONE other builder/designer had seen a way around a certain obstacle (too detailed to explain here) but Ovi thought for a few minutes and said, “What if we do *this*…?” Genius. Got me a more efficient deck with the same footprint. On top of that, he’s just a nice, honest person with all kinds of helpful suggestions.
He and his team did the demo on a Saturday in November, began construction that Monday, and by Wednesday afternoon – yes, only three days of building—I had a brand new, beautiful, SOLID deck! We decided to go with a combination of wood and TimberTech, because I couldn’t afford a whole deck of composite.
The team was great – prompt, courteous, hard-working, and thoroughly cleaned up each day. Ovi even allowed me to make a modification mid-construction, which forced them to re-do some work, and he didn’t charge me extra for it. He’s a real pro, plus he’s very knowledgeable about the very strict Chicago deck codes.
The deck is perfect. My next door neighbors were so impressed with both the quality and the speed, they asked for his info. Next, I need him for my front porch…

I reached out to Ovi about a full rooftop deck renovation project. Completely removing an existing wood deck with composite. He quickly responded to me and we set up a time to meet. He reviewed everything with me from his recommendation for the composite decking, to helping me select color options. I even shared a competitive estimate with him that I received and he walked me through why he wouldn't work with that company. His honesty, integrity and extensive professional experience told me he was the guy I wanted to work with. From the time he ordered all the materials to the day he started demolition was very quick. And he kept in constant communication with me every step of the way. I was blown away by how quickly he and his team worked from demolition to completion of the deck! Not only were they quick, but the craftsmanship is impeccable. He has an eye for meticulous detail and is very involved throughout the project. He is so dedicated that the day the crane was to arrive to load all the materials to my roofdeck, he waited outside my building to hold open parking spaces for hours until the crane arrived. That was impressive.
I can't begin to tell you what a pleasure it was to work with Ovi. A true master of the trade. I loved the work so much, I hired him again to build a pergola on one side of the roofdeck. I am so happy with my deck and look forward to working with Ovi and 4th Generation Construction again!

Ovi and his team are fantastic! We had them do a deck reconstruction last summer and were (and remain) very happy with the results. The deck re-build morphed a bit into a garage rebuild, and throughout Ovi was always upfront, patient, honest, and wanted to do the job the right way. He took the time to explain the issues, the options, and offer suggestions.
We had the team back this summer to redo a balcony (before/after shown in the pics) because we loved their work. As expected, it went smoothly and the results mesh with last summer's work.
