We are in North Center and had a really positive experience with Just Decks. Marek is responsive and helpful. He provided us with lots of options, gave us a realistic understanding of the costs and didn't go over budget. The work is excellent and was finished earlier than anticipated. Additionally, our neighbors mentioned that the construction was never an inconvenience. That's an important factor in the city.

I led a back porch replacement project for our 5 unit condo association in Lincoln Park. We selected Just Decks to complete the project and my neighbors and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend them. The installation was a steel and wood three level deck. It would probably be helpful if I shared some details: Soliciting bids: Just Decks was by far and away the most responsive contractor throughout the entire process. It was honestly frustrating dealing with the other potential vendors. We particularly appreciated Marek’s explanations about costs/benefits of different materials. And he had the patience of a Saint dealing with our condo association’s collective decision making process. I should also note that Just Deck’s honored their pricing even though we dragged our feet. Permitting: This took longer than expected as we are located in an historic neighborhood but Just Deck’s handled everything. I'm not sure it could have gone any faster. Construction: Once the project commenced construction took about 5 weeks and the Just Deck’s team worked through the holiday period. Construction finished on schedule. I should note that the working conditions for our project were very tight. There wasn’t much room to store materials etc… We were very appreciative how clean the team was during take down and construction; and the process was minimally disruptive. We had no complaints amongst the association residents or out neighbours. Finished product: We honestly couldn’t be happier. The work was completed to a very high standard and is in keeping with look of a nicer vintage Lincoln Park condo building. We’re all very much looking forward to sitting out on the new porch when the weather gets nice. After construction we did identify a couple of minor issues with staining. Just Deck’s came back to correct this in a timely way. Their contractors even helped us throw away a few heavy planters that we couldn’t lift when they visited. Conclusion: We’re very pleased that we selected Just Deck’s. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. Marek’s lovely to work with; hugely knowledgeable about his business; and we would select him again in a heart beat. I'll upload some pictures of the work once the snow has melted.

Construction is always a process, requires patience and can be painful at times. In the end you just hope it’s everything you wanted. That is what we got from Marek and crew. We have a beautiful deck and pergola that we are very happy with.

Professional - Efficient - Responsive - High Quality - Reasonably Priced. If those qualities are what you are after from a Chicago deck design/build firm then your search has ended. I found Just Decks on Yelp and after interviewing a few other local companies offering similar services, we decided on Just Decks. Marek arranged a site meeting which he brainstormed ideas, followed by a brief office visit to finalized design and materials. He was full of ideas and options and helped steer us towards the right answer for our project. The workers were all very professional and courteous and worked very hard to get the project done quickly but maintained a high standard of quality. Marek was very responsive to minor changes/adds and never waited more than a day to get back to us regarding anything related to our project. Highly recommend Marek and Just Decks!

Just Decks was a disappointment and a waste of time. For better clarification the owner Marek is completely unprofessional, rude and arrogant. After we waited weeks for an estimate, quote and finally a contract we were told they were to busy for our project. Really? We were open to another time frame or start date but instead we were denied the project completely. Marek was rather consistent in bashing his competitors as I assume it's out of fear. Competition is good and in this case much better than Just Decks. My recommendation maybe focus on your own business and standing by your projects.
