I wish we had done more due diligence before working with MLM. Unfortunately, after a traumatic event a normal reaction is wanting to act as quickly as possible to resolve the issue. And MLM preys on people in these situations. We had a fire in our building in March 2022 which displaced all units. The majority of insurance cost was going to be covered by the HOA insurance policy, which is why the unit holders agreed to work with the same company, MLM, to represent our interests. Mark Musick owns MLM and other businesses related to loss management, one of which is AEmergency Services which packs up, cleans, and stores belongings. So AEmergency came in and boxed up all of our stuff - and the price to pack and store our belongings totaled more than $17K! In this invoice, they added an extra day of work that never even took place - the first of many items MLM didn't document accurately. Now getting to the demo. MLM did not submit the paperwork needed to get a building permit until July, which was then granted in August. So 4 months after being displaced and the permit to start demo was issued. You'd think the demo/construction would finally begin - wrong. We returned to Chicago in September and came to see that absolutely no work had been started. Only after I had to call Mark personally did MLM start demoing in September. After months of back and forth over phone/email, his team was finally working on rebuilding. We had to go to our unit every day to check on progress or else NOTHING ever got done. One day my husband went over to the unit and Mark’s team was sitting in our living room watching the world cup ALL DAY. I called Mark after being, at this point, frustrated and was told by him that it's like the superbowl and this was normal. He then called my husband and said "your wife just called me in hysterics and we need to talk 'man to man'". This will be the first of many sexist remarks/actions made by Mark throughout our working relationship. Another piece was the money - because we were buying materials ourselves and working with our own contractor for finishes, we needed the money that was owed to us for materials/labor from MLM that they received directly from the insurance company. We know it is work to go through each line item for everything that is paid out, but that is LITERALLY THEIR JOB and what they were paid to do, and they were incompetent at it. We spent >30 hours of our own time reviewing the documentation they sent us to go through each line item they owed us money for. We always found mistakes and money they were hiding from us. Which brings me to the worst meeting we had with Mark and Brian. All the emails and calls back and forth were going nowhere, so we set a date to go to MLM’s office to finalize the amount they needed to cut us a check for. The difference between the money Travelers gave MLM and the money MLM said we were getting was over $10K and MLM refused to explain why. After 15 minutes I asked one question on why they don't keep receipts for trash disposal and Mark immediately became angry and belligerent. After Mark started getting angry I asked him - sarcastically - if he'd like me to leave so he could stay and talk 'man to man' with my husband and Brian alone. Mark verbatim said 'it's like talking to two women anyway’ and Mark proceeded to leave the room. My husband told him to return so we could finish the meeting and get our check. Mark then tried to PHYSICALLY get in a fight with my husband in the lobby of his business. After all of this, Brian sat with us and we were just so distraught and upset at this point we took the check and left. So to summarize: MLM is an unprofessional company that takes on way too many jobs and will never make you and your home a priority. Mark Musick is sexist and one of the worst people I've had to deal with in a professional capacity. You will spend more time yourself having to deal with them than they are worth 'saving you time' working with the insurance company directly.

Musick Loss Management did an amazing job doing repairs at my place of business! I've worked with a lot of different maintenance companies and they were super professional, great with communication, and the repairs looks great. They also met our tight timeline for the completion of the project which was super important to our place of business. We've already scheduled them for other work in the space. I highly recommend using their services!

Musick Loss Management worked with us on our claim. They were courteous, professional and knowledgeable when dealing with the insurance company to get our roof repaired. The roofers were efficient and we are very satisfied with the quality of their work.

I honestly can't say enough good things about our experience with Musick Loss Management. We had significant water damage to our rental property that our insurance offered to cover only a small fraction of the cost but with the help of MLM we received enough to cover all the damages. Not only that but the construction repair work that was done in our unit by MLM was top of the line, every decision was well communicated and they worked efficiently to get our tenant back in the unit. Brian Nondorf who managed the process went above and beyond our expectations, from consulting with us before, during and after and delivering the most exceptional service. If you need your insurance to cover damages, don't want to deal with the hassle of back and forth communication and need someone to do the work on the back end - these are the people to call. I highly recommend their services.

I experienced a water backup sewage in April. I was recommended to us Musick loss management by the gentleman that represents my building over at Kass Management. I worked with both Mark and Ivette. They were both very professional. Mark came with Ivette to assets the damages caused by the water backup. They both created a proposal to send over to my insurance so that my insurance could provide the necessary funds to restore the damages caused by water in my unit. What I was most pleased about was how helpful Ivette was with me. I had to call and email her several times regarding updates from my insurance. She was quick to respond and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this service to anyone!
