Amron Stair Works was wonderful to work with from the beginning of our project to the end. We have wanted to update our stairs for years but I didn’t know exactly what I wanted. Amron Stair Works was able to help me make the final design decisions and the crew was able to put it all together in a couple of days. We love our new staircase and are glad we chose Amron Stair Works to make it possible.

I do most of my own in work in my house but after comparing the prices of buying a maple staircase online and installing myself, the price difference was only $250 more to have them get the same and install it, easy decision. So from a price perspective, very competitive. I believe if you were looking to do a simple oak staircase, Menards etc. could be cheaper but if you want anything but oak you have to get custom made which drives the price. That being said, the sales process was great, they were responsive, and pre-delivered the wood so that I could pre-finish many of the pieces making it much easier afterwards to finish, for the most part. The workers were efficient, professional, on time, and done in two days. The finished product looks great, but after more work than expected. Here are a few issues I had though.
1) Nobody called me after it was all said and done to ask if I was satisfied, this was easy to do. I understand it's only a $5k staircase and you have mansions that you rather focus on, but a 2 minute phone call would have gone a long way.
2) The newels - the one thing I was truly disappointed with - as I planned to clearcoat them, I had to sand off numerous glue fingerprints...that's a joke and should have never made it out of qc. I have a feeling because the supplier made the wrong ones initially and had to fix, they got sloppy. I didn't bother arguing about it at the time because it was easier just to fix then wait longer.
3) Delivered the wrong trim - I asked for the wood early so that I could use a precat lacquer on them, something I cannot do now (needs to be ventilated etc and am not doing that in my house) after finding out the wrong pieces showed up initially. I don't understand how that happened as they do this hundreds of times a year.

In the end, my family is happy, and the staircase looks good, much better than before.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but words can only begin to describe the eye-catching transformation of our stairs; one must see them to really appreciate the beauty and the attention to detail.
We initially called multiple contractors but many of them wouldn’t even give us a quote, responding by saying, “I don’t do stairs.” We had one contractor who attempted to install and stain the stairs, but their measurements, cuts, and colors couldn’t match the layout and the color of our newly laid oak flooring. After making upgrades to our main floor, the stairs were an eyesore to look at and we knew we had to do something to tie them in to compliment the rest of our home.

Fortunately, we found Amron Stair Works! The guys from Amron came into our home, provided us with suggestions and a quote. They were always friendly, professional, and timely. The Amron crew suggested replacing our old banisters with new, modern banisters and offered us black iron handles to coordinate with the look throughout the kitchen area that the stairs open up to. Seeing the new banisters installed was the icing on the cake! The guys from Amron also suggested that they remove our 36” half-wall upstairs and install a black iron railing that will open up the space and blend in with the design elements of the rest of our home. Our final project with Amron will be the cherry on top!

We couldn’t be happier with the results from the guys at Amron. If you have a vision of what you want your home or business to look like, give Amron Stair Works a call and let them bring your vision to life. I bet you will then be writing their next referral.
