We had Aaron and BBY put a bathroom in where there was not originally a bathroom. We had several contractors that we contacted to look at the job and of all of the contractors we interviewed, BBY was the standout offering a reasonable price, a good start date, and after this job has been completed, we can say outstanding workmanship. This was not a straight forward job as when you start taking down walls and putting in electrical and plumbing where it was not originally planned is tricky, but BBY was excellent and handled any twist and turn that came their way. The BBY workers are prompt, clean, and respectful. The job was completed on time, on budget, and the workmanship was wonderful. What else could you ask for.....nothing. Many thanks to Aaron, his team, and Heather in the front office.
Aaron is very easy to work with. Him and his crew started work right away and stay in constant commutation. Highly Recommended

I have used BBY for two renovation projects now (master bath and basement). I can't say enough good things about them. Aaron and his team are very responsive and have always gone above-and-beyond for me. They do quality work. I think what really sets BBY apart for me is that they offer a hassle-free experience. Aaron is very clear about what things will cost. I'm not personally interested in design and just want a nice-looking, high-quality finished product. For both projects, I was able to give Aaron the broad objectives and he filled in the rest beautifully without a lot of back-and-forth. His crew is very courteous and professional. I've always enjoyed having them at the house!

They did a full bathroom remodel for me. Turned out great! Took a little longer than expected (6 weeks) and was a higher cost per sqft, but their staff was great and they made sure the job was done well. Probably your best bet for a bathroom remodel in Bloomington.

I highly recommend Aaron Prange and his team at Built By You. We love the kitchen renovation they did for us! In this project, they removed walls to combine a living room, kitchen, and entryway. They completely removed and rebuilt the kitchen. They relayed the floor and did lighting, new trim and paint throughout so it flows as one open space. They have great attention to detail. The team is lovely to work with. They offered helpful suggestions along the way. We appreciate their flexibility when we made requests along the way as well as their focus on customer satisfaction. It took a little longer than expected, but we’re thrilled with the result!

Would like to leave a great review of the work as others left but never got that far. Scheduled a date for them to come out for a kitchen & 2 bath remodel quote but got a return call a week later to tell me I was to far from their location.?? I guess a 10 mile/20 minute drive is not worth their time so if you live on the east side your in luck...west siders ... stay in your lane.

Aaron and his team gutted our kitchen down to the studs, took down a wall and installed a beautiful new space in our house.
Comments:
The professionals at BBY are outstanding. We started a kitchen remodel at the best possible time (right before spring break) which ended up possibly being the worst possible time (at the beginning of the pandemic). Thankfully, thanks to Aaron and his team, it wasn’t the worst possible time solely because they took the time and care to ensure that despite the challenges of working through a pandemic that everything happened on schedule and in a safe way for my family and all of the workers. They displayed a level of care, attention to detail and expertise that blew me away.
They worked around our schedule to accommodate the complexities of our whole family working and schooling from home. Our house feels brand new now and we’re thankful that we chose to do this project with Aaron and his team.

Description Of Work:
We replaced 12x12 deck that was not safe for children with a brand new deck that was 12x30 and was safe for children. Work involved careful measurement and discussion to learn exactly what we wanted, tree removal, and deck construction including stairs and supports.
Comments:
Aaron was the best! He communicated with us at every stage and was careful to understand exactly what we wanted from our new deck. His attention to detail and quality surpassed ours and it was our deck that he was building!
I couldn't believe how well the project went. I was grateful for his expertise and and honesty. It isn't often that you end a project with a builder and consider him a friend afterward but that was definitely our experience with Aaron. Since completing the deck, we have had the benefit of Aaron's expertise on many subsequent projects.
I can't recommend him and his company highly enough! Our family loves our new deck!

We hired Aaron for a very large project that included a complete demo and remodeling of our main floor (e.g. moving the kitchen and bathroom, removing several walls, rebuilding the staircase). Aaron impressed us with his ideas and willingness to incorporate and expand upon our ideas. He was great to work with and we are very happy with the results.

My husband and I hired Aaron Prange for a fairly large project. We live in a bilevel and wanted to do a complete kitchen remodel that involved knocking out walls between the kitchen, dining room and living room. Plus we needed new flooring, new front and patio doors, new stairs and a few other things. Aaron and his team and subcontractors took care of it all! Our previous kitchen was in horrible shape and it really does feel like we are in a whole new home, it all looks AMAZING! Aaron was good about letting us know if any of our choices would push us over budget so we could further evaluate decisions. I have just a few pics I took the morning before and during demo, and then pics of the final work. Our house was built in 1973 and our kitchen and living area looks INCREDIBLE now! The project did not always go 100% smoothly, the second half of the project took much longer than the first half in terms of getting some smaller details completed or corrected, so we had to follow up with Aaron on those things frequently. We also had an issue with a stair nosing that wasn't able to be corrected. In other cases we showed him where attention to detail in some areas could have been better. Other than those few things we are very happy with the results and would use him and his team again for future projects! I wish Google would let us do 1/2 stars because I think 4-1/2 stars is more accurate!

We’ve used Aaron for several projects including a basement remodel that included installing a new bathroom. He also completely redid our master bathroom. The quality has been great and the price is always fair. Most impressive, he is unfailingly attentive and responsive. (He also has had some great design ideas that we’ve adopted!)

Aaron made my wife's dream for a new sun room addition come true. He stuck to the budget, made any changes we desired, used expert craftsman (like Tony), and finished a complex project on time.

We worked with Aaron to "open up" our house that was built in 1986. Aaron had terrific vision and created a great flow for our first floor. He expanded and modernized the kitchen that has become a centerpiece for our living area. He also modernized the two bathrooms on the first floor. We feel like we have a brand new home! Aaron is easy to work with. He is timely and honest. We will work with him again.

We hired Aaron fall, 2018 to remodel our kitchen and make it one with the dining room. Although we had a plan, his strength in design fine-tuned our plan and made the project so much more than we (and Pinterest!) had imagined. There were a number of big surprises as his excellent team did the demolition, which must be expected with any remodeling project. Aaron, however, is a top-notch problem solver, and made numerous suggestions that smoothed out the bumps in the road. Everyone of his workers and sub-contractors was polite and left the worksite as tidy as possible. He also returned with a worker even after the last bill was paid to fix one minor problem.

Aaron Prange, owner of BuiltbyYou was great, always on time, always responsive. He took over from a contractor who couldn't finish the job and did beautiful work. He really knows his business and has very high standards. He is also a really pleasant person which makes a difference when someone is in your home for many days to do a big project. Aaron is a responsible member of our community who does volunteer work with young people in town. I will be hiring him again for another project!

Excellent quality, expert work, hassle free, fantastic crew, predictable budget. We have no hesitation recommending Aaron Prange/Built By You. From beginning to end he kept us informed and involved with the remodeling process from construction plans and scheduling to choice of material and final finishing decisions. The whole process was well organized and predictable; clean, no mess. The project stayed within the agreed estimate.
