Most contractors will do what you ask them to do. Mike is and his team are an anomaly. I have completed several projects with Better Concrete Construction and each time Mike has made recommendations that have enhanced the final product. One thing Mike will tell you is that "I am the best in KC" and this is not a boast Mike and his team are fantastic. A few things to keep in mind though:
1. Mike and his team are busy so it might take some time to get you on the schedule for a project, don't worry its worth the wait.
2. He will be the first to tell you that he isn't cheap, but he stands by his work and will make things right if there are issues.
3. Don't be afraid to ask for suggestions Mike has a wealth of knowledge and its a shame if you don't take advantage of that.
Better Concrete Construction did an outstanding job of replacing our driveway!!! The crew that did the work was amazing!! Best communication with a contractor that we've ever had!!! I HIGHLY recommend Better Concrete to do any concrete work that you may have!!! Thanks Mike, Taylor, Riley and the guys!!!

Better Concrete did a great job installing a basketball court in our backyard (basketball goal and foundation by others). While access to the backyard was good, crushed rock material and concrete had to be transported 250+ feet from the street to the project site using smaller equipment to keep heavy trucks (ex. concrete trucks) off of our relatively new driveway. Better Concrete had the right size crew with the necessary skills and experience and the required equipment to get the job done efficiently and effectively. We also appreciated the time and effort spent cleaning up the work areas before they left the job site.

Mike and his team did a great job with our backyard patio project! They were very transparent on costs and timeline, and came through with all that was promised. The team was very nice and respectful and answered any questions that arose. I would definitely recommend and use again in the future!

Our HOA needed a sidewalk replacement and I searched for a company with good reviews. I was impressed with what the reviews showed and called to have an estimate. I was more impressed that the owner, Mike Backman did the estimate and gave me a list of referrals. We chose his company and they were working sooner than expected. Exceptional quality. Wish we could do all our sidewalks to match!

Hi there! I wanted to give some time before leaving a review because I've been burned in the past. But I can confidently say Mike and his team hit a home run with our driveway and walkway. We are so happy with their work, and while they were here they were an absolute gentlemen. They went out of their way daily to make sure we had a great experience, and the construction of our driveway is top tier. The camper and big truck are sitting nicely and the neighbors have continued complimenting the quality for weeks. We love it! There's no better crew to take care of your concrete needs!!! Mike and his team at Better Concrete Construction Co. did an amazing job replacing our sidewalk this past summer. Their attention to detail was really impressive, the price was competitive and they exceeded our expectations! From beginning to end this company is wonderful. The owner came out to give me the quote and explained why my sidewalk cracked and what would happen. The crew that demolished and replaced my stairs and side walk were hardworking, punctual, friendly, and professional. They kept my yard and driveway as clean as it was before. They answered questions were much quieter than I had though possible. The results of their hard work was better than I had envisioned.

Mike and his crew did a fantastic job removing and replacing my existing driveway. From start to finish they were very professional. The project took only 2 days. They took the extra step of covering driveway with blanket and tarp due to a forecast of colder temperatures. I’m very satisfied with Mikes work and would recommend Better Concrete.
