We had KC pools come out and it was during their transition time to Joe and Jordan. Joe did a great job of answering questions and more importantly if he didn’t know the answer he would find out. Jordan was great answering our initial building questions as well. We had a 3ft drop which required a retaining wall and I had a hard time visualizing what that would look like.
There were times that small problems happened during the build but they always made it right and fair. Which I greatly appreciated. They did a great job of listening to us and our vision for the backyard while also giving some ideas along the way. It’s great to come in with a plan but ultimately they do this more and can help you think some things through. They run multiple crews and the main crew that was on our build did a fantastic job of letting me know what the job was for the day and let me ask questions to how things would be done.
Can’t say enough about the concrete work. A lot of other pool companies sub out their concrete but KC pools does it themselves. I think that’s a testament to how important they feel that step is. Concrete is what everyone will see and it needs to be good. Does concrete still crack? Sure, but almost a year after initial pour it still looks great. Minor cracks in some areas but nothing bad.
The most important thing I can say about them is they honored the contract and finished the job!! We put our deposit down in June of 21, to first dig Oct of 22, to first swim May of 23. Pool size is 18x30 with just under a 7ft deep end, heater and autocover. They got busy because everyone wanted a pool during that time but Joe and Jordan did their best answer questions as they could. When the demand for pools goes up you need to be patient. But ask yourself this “Do you want a company that is known for finishing? Or a company that might leave you high and dry and start tomorrow” If a company is busy that usually says something.
There’s always things you’d do different on a project but one summer in so far we feel really good about how things turned out. Highly recommend this company, there are some in the area that take the money and run, I never felt that way with Joe and Jordan.
We've never had a pool put in before so I can't compare it to other companies but we feel good having gone with Joe and Jordan. So if you're in the market read reviews, talk to others that have pools, and ask a lot of questions.
I could go on and on about specifics about our build but for the purpose of a Google review I’ll stop there and attach some visuals.
Thank you again KC pools for making our bucket list come true.
I hired KC POOL to replace a skimmer, a job not many would take when I reached out to other pool companies. The cost was appropriate to the work that was done, since it had a-lot of concrete work. The skimmer is in working order and working how a skimmer should work. I would give 4 stars if it was just based on skimmer replacement. The communication was sub par. The scheduling process was frustrating, and it took several weeks to get on the schedule. The men who worked on the skimmer- had the skimmer lid filled with concrete- so it had to be chiseled out. Inside the skimmer was the warranty, which was paper- it would have been fine to leave it out (there was not water in the skimmer yet). Also upon opening the pool, we have found concrete at the bottom of the pool, which I can only assume is from their concrete work around the skimmer. Lastly, when I initially had KC POOL service out to look at the skimmer, they accidentally stepped on the pool pump plumbing and it broke away from the filter. They honored their promise of repair, but the repair was subpar and my husband ended up fixing it- because it was leaking water. I reached out to them regarding this concern, and they stated about something with the previous plumbing being incorrect. It may have been incorrect, but it did not leak until it was stepped on. Regardless the repair, should have consisted of it not leaking. I also expressed concerns about the communication, to which they replied with not always getting an email in a timely manner or service issues, all is understandable. Overall, the service is complete and it works well. The communication, clean up, and repair on filter plumbing was not up to my standards. I am an understanding person, but when I’m paying over 2,000 dollars for service- I expect slightly better service.

Bob's company did a horrible job managing their own people. The quality was subpar. This company has renamed itself for many reasons. Pool guys aren't a very reliable crowd but RUN don't walk away from these folks!

These folks have been doing my pool for years and years. It’s great seeing the same guys that close and open my pool if I could get 10 stars, I would they’re the best pool company in Kansas City.

My wife and I are so pleased with the addition of a water deck and stairs to our home pool. The guys at KC Pool came in and designed and constructed our stair addition with minimal disruption and literally no impacts to our yard space. The results truly give a modern updated look to our pool that we can't wait to enjoy in the coming season. Thank you Joe and Jordan for all your efforts thus far! Looking forward to our liner installation once the weather allows!

The former Esther Williams Pools; now KC Pools, installed our in ground pool about nine years ago. We have over those years continued to use their services annually for opening and closing our pool. We have been very satisfied with their service. Due to recent issues with our family, we needed to have them come and conduct what I call a Pool Maintenance 101 course for us. They gladly did that spending at least an hour taking us through the details of how to maintain our pool and they did so at no charge due to our long, ongoing relationship. We are very appreciative of this.
We would highly recommend KC Pools if you are considering installing a pool or having maintenance on an existing pool. We have been very happy with their response and level of service.

We had 3 or 4 other pool companies come out to give us a bid and we decided on KC Pools. We made our decision based on their actions during the process. KC Pools answered all of our questions, even though we probably asked the same question repeatedly. They were (very) patient as we decided on pool location and dimensions. We wanted to work within our current landscaping and mature trees and KC Pools made sure to honor our requests. I never felt pressured by someone trying to oversell things we didn't want or need. I'm not a pool expert and after meeting with KC Pools, I knew I could rely on their expertise. We are so glad we used KC Pools and never once have regretted installing an in-ground pool. If you are considering a pool, look no further!

I would absolutely recommend KC pools and their team. JD is a master class pool serviceman.
My pool was neglected and heavily damaged due to another pool company stringing me along for a year and a half, eventually he just flat out stole my money. When I called Joe in 2021 trying to find a liner. I explained the situation and the damage to the pool wall. He worked hard to get me the liner and JD worked hard to fix the walls.
I honestly didn't care how my pool turned out after the past few years, but seeing how good of a job JD did... I'm amazed. It's almost back to new.
