We just moved into our home after a full home renovation by Bluegrass Haven Construction and M. Shields Design and could not be happier! Lars, his team, and Michaela were absolute joys to work with. They were all incredibly responsive, professional, and produced an outstanding finished product. There wasn’t one moment during our months-long renovation where we felt unheard or unsupported. On a project of this size, especially a retrofit renovation, there will always be obstacles and unforeseen issues that arise, but there were shockingly very few and Lars and his team were able to quickly resolve them. Any budgetary changes were communicated quickly and clearly and required our express consent before moving forward. Any changes or additions we wanted to make were thoroughly discussed and the costs/benefits were weighed so we always left feeling great about our decisions. Even though our renovation is complete, I’ve called Lars on a few occasions to make some modifications or additions and he is still as responsive as ever, making sure we are taken care of. If you are looking for a contractor who produces high quality work, communicates very well, and stands behind their product, do not hesitate to call Bluegrass Haven Construction for a quote!

We love our remodel that Bluegrass Haven did this summer with our first floor living space. The kitchen and laundry room turned out great, the removal of a wall opened it to the living and dining area and redoing the wood floors and stairs, the lighting, it updated the entire home. I met with Lars and had design plans in hand and some specific requests, he worked with me and completed the project with all the requests, on time and on budget. The couple pivots needed once walls uncovered were not an issue he quickly came up with solutions and the work progressed. His crew is wonderful as well they were on time, friendly and very neat throughout the remodel. I am meeting with him again for additional work in 2024. Thank you for helping us create this space!

Lars and his team did an amazing job! I was mainly having a kitchen redone, but it also involved removal of a wall, a new sliding glass door installation, brick work, new electrical, new lighting, painting, flooring, and refinishing existing floors. Not only was the work top quality, but he kept everything on task and on budget. Lars always communicated well throughout the project, and I recommend Bluegrass Haven Construction to anyone who is looking to complete a project. Even though I’m writing this review 6 months later, everything still looks great. It’s highly functional, and you can tell that everything was installed with a hug attention to detail. Absolutely great work!
