Overall

I have used this company for 3 years and never had one problem with my billing. I went into a small financial situation this month and was going to be late this time. We didn't even go into another billing cycle and my can was picked up from the side of my house. I understand clearly its not their problem I was in a bind, I completely get that but after paying the 60.00 I was told I would be charged a late fee, pick up and drop off fee just to get my can back. The customer service women was very short and fast to let me know I could use another company and she will cancel me out and let me say this, with customer service like that and lack of concern for long time faithful customers I will be moving my business. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HUGE.

So far a wonderful experience signing up with Hometown residential trash services. The price was also the cheapest around. I like how I pay 3 months in advance and don't have to worry about the bill! Everyone should leave horrible, rip off rumpke, that was charging me $66.00 a month and not even showing up every week! Hometown is better and cheaper! Thank you Hometown!

We have had Hometown Hauling since about 2009. I called today and asked if they could pick up one extra large item this month (keep in mind I've only used large pick up maybe 3 times in the 15ish years). I was told there is a $20 fee for an extra item. I talked to the "customer service manager," Pam to ask that the fee be waived this one time since we've been such loyal customers. She told me no. She talked over me. She told me that the large item pick up is a "free" service they offer, so apparently they do it for non-paying customers too. I pay for garbage pick up that includes 1 large item a month. It's not free.

It is really sad when small businesses act like their loyal customers don't matter. I will be changing companies.

Edited to add to their response:
My complaint is with your "customer service" not your policy. WM offers the same service at the same price, but includes 1 bulk item a WEEK, and I can schedule it online without having to deal with people who hate their company. Thank you for the encouragement to find a new company.

I put out my yard waste on the day before it was due to be collected. When I arrived home that evening (Thursday), the can was still full. I attempted to call the company, but they had left for the day. I sent an email the next day (Friday) to Hometown Hauling to ask if it was because I had put out the yard waste can on an off week, thinking that the yard waste is only picked up every other week. They quickly replied that they pick up yard waste every week and please put the can back out the next day. I put it out at the curb, and they had someone stop by and pick up the yard waste on a day which was not my normal pick day. I want to compliment Hometown Hauling as they are THE BEST company I have EVER DONE BUSINESS WITH, EVER!!!

I'm not a customer but my neighbor is and is an elderly woman. Contacted the local office 3 times today to try and fix something they did and the first 2 times they said " we will get a hold of the supervisor and let them know." The 3rd time was told they reviewed the footage, talked to the driver and supervisor and said they didn't see anything and that there are other companies that pick up trash in the neighborhood. The only cans out today was Hometown the other company runs next day. Trash dumped on the road next to her driveway and can. I took pictures. It was her trash because she said it was. What happened to customer service I ended picking it up because it started raining and the wind was blowing the trash around. It took me ten minutes to pick it up, they could have just resolved it by just coming by and seeing for themselves on a customer complaint and picking it up themselves just to keeping everyone happy. You make money on service, supervisor makes money on supervision and customer service. This is way companies are struggling today poor customer service.
