Installer damaged our home on the camera install. Lied to us for 6 months saying they were waiting for their manager to take care of it. Then they quit responding to texts. I then contacted corporate to find out they never even filed a claim or made a record of it. Thankfully we had text messages of them admitting to the damage to prove it. They then raised our rates from what we agreed to. We wanted to cancel our service and were informed that we would have to pay an $1100 fee because we have a 3 year contract. These people are shady AF. Do not do business with them.

Ex-customer. Giving an honest review of everything I experienced since 2018. ADT monitoring is great. Don’t get me wrong, you know if one of your alarms is going off. They will call you within seconds of an alarm. But several gotchas. First, we had to sign a 3 year contract just to get started. Then, within a year they already raised our rates. No advance notice, just a higher bill and a notice that this was going to be my new price. I called and said cancel my contract or lower the price back as agreed. Done. Then 3G was phased out. We were left with a choice. Either pay for the new transmitter, or extend our contract for another 2 years. Then another rate increase hit. This time I was told it was due to increased fees or taxes or something along those lines and nothing could be done to lower the price. Then our smoke detector broke. It needed to be replaced. Instead of being able to have one sent to my house and install it, I had to wait almost 2 weeks for an installer appointment. Then, finally, a month before our contract ends, I get a phone call from ADT basically threatening to raise our rates if we didn’t renew our contract. That was it for me. I was done with the mid-term price increases, the sneaky contract extensions, and the long wait to get problems fixed. I ran from ADT at the first chance I got and ordered a popular DIY option with stellar monitoring reviews, more system components, a better price, and no contracts.

Our neighborhood has changed and my husband and I noticed crimes seemed to be increasing everywhere so after shots being fired right in front our driveway and 2 stolen vehicles were ditched in the street in front of our house it was my son who told us in order to stay in this area we must add security. The following day I went online and located the ADT ad , made an appointment to have the system of our choice installed. From the moment Steve (our tech) arrived and began the installation we feel much safer. I chose ADT due to its longevity and reputation, I’m glad I did.

Where to start. They failed to tell us we would have to pay extra for a subcontractor until after they arrived, failed to make sure their equipment was compatible, broke our air conditioning, put a hole in our door, failed to finish setting up the system, then just constantly shift blame. We have yet to receive refunds on the hardware they took back, our air is still broken, and the door looks horrible. When we call support we sit on hold for an hour just being shifted around, only to be spoken to rudely and accomplishing nothing. I've had ADT for over a decade at 3 different houses, but this service here in Kentucky is just disgraceful.

We have been customers of ADT for seven years with no issues until we tried to upgrade our equipment and service. I called the inbound line and was quoted a price. I told the lady on the phone that was too expensive and I wanted to talk to my wife before I made that commitment so she said I’ll call you back in an hour. She never called back so I called back in and spoke with someone at a branch office she gave me much better pricing so I placed.an order and she realized the first lady had placed an order that was supposed to be canceled and was not. The tech came to install my new equipment but had a work order for the fraudulent work order. I let him go ahead and install thinking I could get the billing straightened out the next day but that didn’t happen. I was on the phone for about 41/2 hours in total and transferred about 15 times. Bottom like ADT chose to let me the customer pay the price for a dishonest employee. I wii honor my contract but I will be canceling the day it’s over
