Good price, poor contract terms. Contracts are not fun but are important when things do not go well. Colonial fence's contract terms legally bound the customer to the entire cost of the project without any possible out-clause, maintained ownership of ALL material until the project was completed, and required 50% up-front payment. Thus, with the 50% Colonial collected up-front, the fencing material they planned to purchase WITH THE CUSTOMER'S money, was not legally owned by the customer according to the contract terms. Therefore, if the contract was breached for any reason, Colonial gets to keep all the material the CUSTOMER PAID FOR, and can legally collect the FULL cost of the job. These terms completely insulate and protect Colonial and offer no protection whatsoever to the customer spending thousands on a fencing effort. There are a lot of fencing providers out there. Keep shopping for better terms. I found an equally reputable provider who matched the price and was willing to hash out fair contract terms.
The work and product are exceptional. The crew was professional and except for an amazing new fence, it was like they had never been there. They left my yard better looking than when they arrived.

A great process from estimate to scheduling and installation. A great and communicative crew did a superb job with the install, kept in communication with us about different steps, an adjustment that was necessary in the midst of the install and at the point of the final completion. Just a fantastic experience.
