6/16/22: I showed 10 minutes late (as I said might happen due to work and a 45 minute drive). for an appointment I made to go over my kitchen plan. I called ahead to make them aware I would be late. When I showed up, I was told that the person meeting with me was going to be 30 minutes late. I couldn’t wait because I had to take my son to baseball practice. I wasn’t made aware of this when I called prior to showing.

I left my information and a sketch of my kitchen layout detailed with wall measurements. I left my phone number and was told I would be called. The lady who helped me was really pleasant and nice, which is why I offer this review 2 stars.

6/28/22 (nearly two weeks later), I called to ask if I would be contacted to discuss my plan. I spoke to one of the Marcotte’s and was told they “were getting to it” and planned to call me by the end of the week or the following week.

7/7/22 - no call, no apology for the delay or missing my appointment. Nothing.

I don’t chase contractors who can’t keep their word nor schedule. I will definitely not be using these folks for my kitchen as they have set an unprofessional standard with me already. I’m sure there are others out there who do work that is just as good.

Paid $250 for kitchen plans to be drafted. Never received the plans. Called many, many times. They rarely answer and NEVER return calls. It’s been over two years - the plans are not coming. We intend to take them to court as a matter of principle. I take no pride in posting this review regarding a local, small business - sad times.

Edit: The owner responded stating he would give our money back, which is kind and asked for a copy of the check. The check was literally attached to this review. As for why we waited 2 1/2 years to complain we have called you many times over the last year and you do not respond to phone calls. We don’t immediately jump to giving negative reviews to businesses without giving them ample time to address it. A better question would be why did you not give a copy of the plans to begin with when they were paid for? Another question would be why do you not have the income listed in your invoicing system when we clearly paid you and posted a copy of the check which cleared our bank.

Update: 1-2-2024. Still no refund, still no plans.

We tried to have this company do work for us. Went to their store,
told Josh what we wanted to have done. He was very helpful with ideas and we picked out 3 counter tops for him to get a quote on.
WE called the next week but told no response from the counter people. Called 2 more times and no call back.....at all. They never, ever got back to us......not even to say they didn't want to or couldn't do the job. This was a couple months ago. It was a very weird experience since Josh was great at the store. I don't know, maybe it was the father.
He didn't seem to pleased we were in his store, barely responded to a question from his son Josh. Maybe because we were two men together shopping for our new counters, cabinet work and bathroom vanity tops? I hope that wasn't the reason.
I give Josh 4 stars for his help at the store but the company gets 1 star overall. Very bad way to run a business. I can not and will not recommend them to any of the many people I know.

July of 2019, I purchased and paid in full; cabinets, quartz countertop and cabinet labor from Paul Marcotte & Sons.
1. During demolition, when they removed the countertop, they gouged my new stainless steel, dishwasher control cover. They agreed to replace it. I called several times looking for updates. Josh never called me to let me know what was going on, after waiting over 7 months; they did install a new control cover.
2. 1 of my cabinet doors was damaged, probably from shipping, which they knew, but didn’t say anything until I called them. After waiting many months, new doors were installed.
3. 7 cabinet doors that had to be patched after the handles were installed. They were fixed, some barely satisfactory. 2 doors need to be redone; they did agree to re-patch it again. Still waiting.
4. My wall microwave was not level when they put it back. They did fix this.
5. I had a chip on 1 of the cabinets, that they touched up. The color does not match. I feel this is unsatisfactory, and they just give excuses, they are not going to fix this.
6. Factory defect on the base of 1 of the cabinets. They did agree to take care of this. Still waiting.
7. The cabinets/spacers around the dishwasher was unacceptable. They did fixed this.
8. I feel that they did not measure my cabinets appropriately because, the upper and base cabinets are not parallel. I have a 3” spacer and 2 inches free on the wall on the top. The, next size up from 1 of my smaller cabinets, would have made this perfect. They gave me an excuse, and not willing to work with me to fix this.
9. The epoxy that holds the dishwasher to the countertop detached. This did not even last a year. They agreed to add epoxy again, still waiting. Because this is not fixed; when opening and closing the dishwasher door it is rubbing against the cabinet causing damage.
10. A piece of the toekick detached. Did not last a year. They did agree to attach the toekick. Still waiting.
Josh and Paul came to my house in May of 2020 to assess my issues. Paul came over again in the summer to make a list of the issues. I called before Thanksgiving and Josh told me, they can’t do it this week, maybe the week after that. I called the 1st week of January 2021 and Josh said he will put me on the list, it has been almost a month and they have not fixed these issues. I live 2 minutes from their business, I can see their building from my house. There is no reason why they cannot take an hour to fix 4 issues. Every story has 2 sides, but pictures show the truth. As you can see, I have gone through a lot and none of this is my fault. I am very disappointed and very frustrated with this company. I would not recommend them; therefore, I give them 1 star. On a positive note, Surface Creations of Maine, who measured and installed my quartz countertop, did an awesome job with no issues.

We had our kitchen cabinets done by Paul Marcotte and Sons 2 years ago and I love them. I love the self-closing doors, the sliding shelf’s, and silly as it sounds, I love the double trash can cubboard. The moveable shelves have given me the ability of easily storing items of any size which actually have me more storage space. Paul and his son installed them themselves. They were so professional and very clean workers. We got quotes from many places before choosing Paul. We may have been able to get our kitchen done cheaper by one of the big box stores, but not for the same quality of product and services. I would recommend them to everyone.

Working with the Marcotte family on our new kitchen has been an awesome experience, every step of the way. Josh was committed to designing a kitchen that was exactly what I wanted, made any changes along the way and ensured he found a cabinet finish that worked for my vision - not an easy feat!

Paul is a talented installer and carpenter, he was able to work with ceilings and walls that are far from level and deliver a seamless installation, with cabinets going to the ceiling. You would never know my ceiling wasn’t level given his flawless craftsmanship. I know it took a lot of work and he made it seem easy. Installation was fast, and the time from installation of cabinets to installation of countertops was only 2 short weeks!

Our countertops will be installed tomorrow and we’re so excited for the finished project. Thank you Josh and Paul for making this a truly wonderful experience. We love our new kitchen!!
