A guy by the name of Morris from your Ellsworth company , told me I could get a better deal on some stuff at ware butler ,than going to Hammond lumber, That is not very good company repusentation not a good employee to have,

Dear Hammond lumber company owner, I reviewed your response to my post about your employee's code of conduct. And your solution to this issue is loading and unloading policy?? I have been delivering to this location for years, sir, never had a problem. When you respond to my statement and review about this location, at least be honest. And most of all,have some dignity and address to people what really happened. Some of your employee's need customers service training and most of all sensitive training. For being so disrespectful. In closing; all I was doing is my job. If you are really the owner of The Hammond lumber company in Ellsworth maine, you would have contacted me or my company about this incident. Not respond to you a review.

Their “custom building” section was pretty darned impressive as were the folks who worked there. The hardware store part has a nice selection of items and is well stocked. We went in looking for a screen door. They didn’t have the size we needed but offered to order it for us. Obviously, it’s a much more personalized experience than going to a big box store. Conveniently located.

Friendly staff who are great assets when looking for recommendations. Prices are competitive. At certain times, can be alittle tough making a left out of lot when leaving, be worth it to go right and then left at light to turn around then.

this "organization" is the antithesis of customer-service. Drove over an hour to this Hammond Lumber store, went in and asked a simple question. Little, rotund lady at front desk could not have been more rude with basically no reply. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO ANY OTHER LUMBER/HARDWARE STORE BESIDES THIS ONE. You have been warned.

Always a pleasant experience at Hammond lumber/ Ellsworth! Been shopping there for WAY over a decade, back when it was EBS. There's always someone available if you have questions, or need service. Staff is great, knowledgeable and friendly, for the most part. I won't stop shopping there anytime soon... (And I'm a stickler for, and a believer in good customer service!)

Took delivery of my order today I purchased a week ago. Sad, they can't call to let you know they're coming. Wonder where it would've been left had we not been home? I'll go to Hammond when I must, but in Town Hill vs Ellsworth store. Much more helpful and professional. Delivery Mgr couldn't even take 2 minutes to return our phone call.

Friendly, welcoming service. Supporting local business is worth the personalized experience, even if prices are slightly more than the box stores. Plus, free delivery is a godsend if you don't have a truck for larger materials.
