The quality of service has improved significantly at the Rockland store after Hammond took over. It's a small store so it's understandable the selection is somewhat limited but Hammond will need to improve the quality of wood to remain competitive with Spear's or Viking's.

I called Hammond Lumber in Rockland three times in 2 days to see if they had in stock what I needed. All 3 times the 3 different people I spoke to were polite, professional& knowledgeable, always asking if I needed any further assistance before hanging up. When visiting the store two times in two days the service was friendly, respectful& helpful. Hammond Lumbers prices are competitive with Home Depot & Lowes with the random items I purchased. This was such a pleasant shopping experience I've vowed to shop there as much as possible. Thank you Hammond Lumber for excellent service.
