As a SE Michigan certified arborist I spend my days diagnosing trees and shrubs disorders that could have been avoided if they had been planted correctly and maintained even a little by the landscape professional that planted them. Barkman stands out to me in this crowd as a great landscape company and I wouldnt think twice about referring them to anyone I know. Barkman is truly a group of educated professionals focused on quality work and quality landscapes. From design, planting, to the follow thru on establishment and maintenance, I just don’t see any other companies with this internal focus on the care of the landscape once the plant goes into the soil. Their designs in my opinion will also have lower long term maintenance costs as they do not plant species with the high disease or insect potential. 5 STARS Barkman. Keep up the good work.

From the initial consultation, through the design process, and during the construction, the entire team was friendly and professional. The finished product looks amazing and the craftsmanship is top notch. They were even able to resurrect my ancient irrigation system that hadn't been used in 15+ years. We moved into a newly constructed house in April and needed to have landscaping work completed to not only meet our neighborhood’s HOA requirements, but to have a property which reflects our personalities. A relative recommended Barkman because of their very positive experience in the past. From the very start, we were very impressed with the Barkman team and the initial phone call and meeting. Mark was a complete professional and knew exactly how to develop a plan we would like. He took the time to answer all my questions and took a close look at the property. He returned with a very detailed plan for our landscape. They also broke the contract proposal down into different pieces so that we could perform the work for which we had the budget and can budget for the future work. The team could answer all my questions in between signing the contract and starting the work and were flexible as changes were needed. There were no surprises, which is always a very good thing when starting a project of a large magnitude. The crew arrived on the promised day and daily progress was noticeable. They were always friendly and willing answer questions. At the end of the job, they made sure everything was working and cleaned up the site. It was obvious they took pride in their work and cared to make sure the landscape looked as good as we anticipated. After the job was completed, Mark came back out personally to review the work. He also gave a detailed explanation of how to care for the plants both initially as they are getting established and long term so that our landscape remains looking as good as the day it was completed. Any issues after the work was completed were handled promptly and without hesitation. Barkman truly stands behind his work. We are going to hire Barkman Landscaping long term to eventually complete the master plan they laid out for our property.
