I had a pipe break in my basement that flooded my downstairs lower level. Two built-ins, one of which was a kitchenette, and the lower level carpet were ruined. This was not a huge project, but it was pretty serious to me. I called my insurance company and put in a claim. I was pretty much on my own, even though insurance companies are happy to get your premiums and happy to be your friend when you’re paying them. When it comes to a claim, they start telling you what you need to do, where you need to send stuff, and which adjusters you need to send them to. Luckily, I had a friend who had used Richard Farrand at Farrand Claim Consulting. He explained that Farrand is a public adjuster and they could legally represent my intrests and interface with the insurance company. Little did I know how lucky I would be to work with them. They came over, took a look at the damage, took pictures, and arranged for some water mitigation people to come by and dry out my basement immediately to protect against further mold growth. They had the carpet dried out, ripped up, and took care of all the initial and primary responsibilities that come along with water damage. Over the next few months, I saw him go through insurance adjuster after insurance adjuster, and saw the numerous emails and information that they wanted him to send, including pictures, survey water damage, i.e., moisture content, and various documentation in regards to the water damage. After about four adjusters, I also saw him escalate it to management. This was a lifesaver for me. At this point, I would’ve been pulling my hair out. Farrand Claim handled everything along the way and eventually, we got our carpet replaced, our built-ins replaced, and the claim settled. The amount of work they did on our behalf was fantastic. After all these adjusters, all the delays, all the depreciation attempts the insurance company tries to push off on you, I would’ve been fit to be tied. Richard Farrand and his public adjusting firm handled the whole project from start to finish and not only got everything back to how it was before the damage, but most importantly, helped me maintain my sanity. I will never work with an insurance company directly alone without their help ever again. Richard and the staff are consummate professionals, and I would highly recommend them to anybody that has an insurance claim or has to work with an insurance company. Sincerely, Max Wiese.

I had an amazing experience. I did not have to worry about my claim as soon as Richard took over communication with my insurance company. He handled my claim wonderfully, I was able to get all damaged items repaired on the outside of my home and all I had to do was read the final documents and wait for a check. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs assistance in the process of a homeowners insurance claim.
