Metcalf Moving & Storage recently moved our small office and warehouse into a larger space. That included packing our inventory, moving our shelves, equipment and furnishings, and disassembling/reassembling office cubes. Everything went smoothly. Crew was professional, patient, and careful. I was assigned Metcalf through Mayflower for a move from the Twin Cities to Virginia. The team on both loading and unloading were both professional and fast. While almost all of my belongings arrived in good shape, I am sorry to report that I had a few items irreparably damaged during the move, including a lamp which was inexplicably put in a dresser without additional packing materials. I was not informed specifically that either item was packed inappropriately, otherwise I would have found a way to pack it more securely. Neither survived the move, but filing the claim was simple enough, and I have a check arriving any day now which will replace the cost of my few damaged items. It is my understanding that the teams pay is linked to these reviews. I wish I could give them 5, but frankly I expected either better disclosure ("we can't move this safely") or better treatment of items. The move was fine on the whole at least, and the experience is a reminder to remember to pack everything well.

Steve and the guys did a great job on the departure side. The team was helpful and very accommodating. The unloading side did a fine job, but make sure you are familiar with the fact that they will not unpack and put together some items that they took apart and packed. Overall, they did a wonderful job, and I would definitely use them again.

Would hire again for my next move! An excellent job performed by Mark & Steve in helping me with my move from St. Paul to Minneapolis this past weekend! Both of them were highly professional, efficient, and made my move way less stressful. They went above and beyond - truly. As an example, when I arrived to the new apartment, the key to the door did not work. Mark & Steve were able to strip the lock & open the apartment door, which saved valuable time as it would have taken the weekend on-call maintenance person nearly an hour to get to my apartment to unlock the door before boxes could be unloaded inside the apartment. By the time the on-call maintenance personnel arrived, we were already inside the apartment & unloading boxes.

I am extremely pleased with the move through Metcalf! From the initial discussion with Ryan my coordinator to the final delivery, I was very happy with how everything came together! I moved from Minnesota to Florida. My semi driver, Chris, combined my smaller shipment with two other customer loads on his truck as he drove south. It worked out so well and was price competitive with the POD and other container options I considered for my smaller move. Thank you Metcalf!

Ryan took the initial survey and he was great, friendly, and professional. The day of the move there were two movers - one tall guy and another shorter guy. I never got their names. The tall guy was overall very abrasive from the start, while the short guy was always really friendly. One of the first things the tall guy said was that we wouldn’t make the estimated time and he didn’t understand how it was determined, etc… (spoiler: we made time). While moving, I heard a loud noise, like something falling down all the stairs. I asked if something broke and they said “nope, nothing broke.” (See attached picture, showing broken piece off an expensive table). When we finished moving to the new place, I tip handsomely (as I always do) and that did seem to change the tall guy’s demeanor.
