I called Bates last Friday to resolve an issue with my balcony light. Dave came out first thing Monday and was even kind and waited when my building wouldn't let him in. He troubleshooted the issue and was back out Wednesday to install a new fixture. They were quick and efficient! I recommend Bates Electric and Dave for all of your electric needs.
My name is John and my wife and I purchased a home in Dittmer Mo (As Is)which is to say that that it needed some repairs. The electrical was a major concern so by referral we were given Bates Electric I spoke with the project manager Steve and he put me at ease after speaking with him with all my concerns.They put in a new electrical pole, new circuit box in our home as well as a new circuit box in our Pole Barn. Steve knew that we were on a budget so he saved us a lot on suggesting that we run the electric to the pole barn from the existing electric pole so that we would only have one bill. There were several team members who came out one electrician named Dan came on several occasions addressed all my concerns.Dan put in our panel box, wall pack light, put in all pole barn lights just most recently wired or sauna. They put in GFI outlets the list was l lengthy the were able to get it (All) completed and within our budget.My wife Bev and I will definitely be using their survives in the future and would highly recommend Bates Electric.

Bates is just finishing up my home basement project (3 rooms and a bathroom) and did a great job especially considering I, as the homeowner, was the “general”. They were patient and provided excellent technical support and advice where necessary. They sent knowledgeable and friendly technicians each day to complete the various stages of installation and all work was professional and punctual. I highly recommend them.

Ian did an incredible job fixing my outlets and kitchen lighting! I will be returning if I have any issues in the future. I recommend this company to anyone looking for quality service.

I live in an older home and needed a new junction box for a light fixture and a wall switch installed. I called Bates Electric on a Friday and had a maintenance appointment set for Monday.
Before the appointment time frame, Pete called to confirm my availability and a short while later he arrived. I showed him the location of the proposed box and switch. Under two hours, I had a new switch, junction box and he installed my lighting fixture. Pete was professional, knowledge and polite and I have no doubts that I’ll be giving him a call when decide to update the other rooms. Thanks Pete!

Bates is the most professional and highly skilled electrical service company I've ever seen. We were extremely fortunate to have Ian as our electrician. I've never seen someone as knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and competent as Ian was today when he removed our old service breaker box and replaced it with a new larger breaker box.
Ian dove deep into our entire electric set up and he corrected multiple issues that we hadn't known about. These could have been hazardous and dangerous. He kept me informed the entire process. I am thankful.
I was referred to Bates Electrical and Ian when my elderly MIL had work done and she told me that she trusted him very much. I understand she actually gave Ian a hug when his work was complete. She's not a hugger.

Frankie did a fantastic job on my kitchen recess lighting and my light fixtures over my sink and island. My kitchen is complete. Thank you Bates Electric. AAA rating

I had asked my EV charger to be installed in my garage and also to move one breaker to second panel to make room for EV breaker. I was not happy with the the young man who they sent to do the actual work. He was not very professional.
1- He did not fish the cable from the electric panel, which is in basement, directly under the dry wall of garage. He cut 2 pieces into dry wall (instead of 1). He left the cut dry wall pieces loose in the dry wall.
2- When asked if had properly torqued the cables into the 50A breaker and in the EV charger to 17.5 ft-lb as per instructions of EV charger manufacturer. He response was "No I tightened it pretty good"
3- While drilling holes for the charger mounting bracket on the wall, he made extra set of holes and left them unused/un-repaired. Even a novice like me knows how to find studs in the wall for mounting bracket!!
4- Lastly he left without labeling the 1) moved breaker and 2) the EV breaker in the panel which is code requirement. I had to call their office and have him call me back to help me label the two breakers myself.
I saddens me to get this kind of quality for the amount of money I paid for this work.
UPDATE 07/28/2023:
Bates electric reached out to me. They not only refunded me $135 service fee but also their tech came to my house to torque the cables both at breaker/panel side and charger side to proper spec.
Wall work i have to get it repaired myself.
