I’m so glad that I was able to work with Stephanie Stark at Tile,Inc in Aberdeen for all of our tile needs in building our new home. Not only was Stephanie energetic and helpful, she also has a great eye for design and color coordination. She worked tirelessly to make sure that we not only ended up with a wonderful plan but also- and very importantly- stayed UNDER BUDGET! She is the only vendor of the many I dealt with who was able to satisfy our needs and also keep us under budget! Pure magic!! Stephanie’s personable demeanor made me immediately feel comfortable and like I was working with a trusted friend as we spent time making decisions. Trust is not always easy to find when dealing with vendors which makes me even more grateful to have found Stephanie. I know that if I picked up the phone tomorrow to ask for her recommendations or guidance, she would be responsive, honest and willing to help me. Thank you Tile, Inc. for hiring and retaining such an exceptional employee who genuinely understands customer service!

2-part review to help others new to the area. 1. I bought a home here in 2023. At the advice of my former contractor, I hired Ben Spears Tiling and Flooring for my master bath. Ben has been tiling for decades and even owned a local tile shop so I assumed (my mistake) I was in good hands. As you can see from the photos, he didn’t even trowel the mud before tiling, but instead applied it in very thick pancake formations that in some areas are 5/8” thick. Someone with his supposed expertise would know that you do not apply mud this way. It should be evenly troweled and around 1/8” thickness so the tiles have a secure surface to adhere to, for the grout to have good adhesion, and for there to be a good seal between them. Having large pockets of hollow space underneath the grout leaves me open to problems (mold and water damage) down the road because grout is a porous material. The thickness of the grout also caused my valve to not rest flush with the tiled surface, which leaves another point of entry for water damage. The top shelf of the niche was at such a severe angle my bottles were practically falling off. It was also made of several pieces with many uneven grout lines. I don’t have a photo. See photo of new niche with picture frame trim. As you can see from the photos, the grout line at the bottom seams is completely uneven. The right side has a huge grout line and the left side has a very narrow line. On the right side Ben left huge holes in the grout (see photo). Grout was uneven all over and had to be regrouted. Also, there was no consideration for tile placement. He simply took the tiles out of their boxes and plopped them on top of his mud pancakes. I reached out to Ben with the pancake photos and politely asked why he did this. Of course, he ever responded, which is the way he treated me when I previously had questions. I purchased my tile from Meadowcreek Tile (large wall tiles with matching herringbone). I checked on my order and was told everything was in and we were good to go but when the start date rolled around, the herringbone was nowhere to be found. I called trying to get answers and they were very rude to me, so I knew I would not use them again. They finally got the herringbone but it delayed the project. 2. Now onto the good part! Of course for the upstairs bath I needed to find someone that actually knows what they are doing. Enter Tile, Inc. The moment I entered the store Erin was available to help me. She is very knowledgeable. I knew what I wanted and alas! they keep large subway tile in stock so I was able to order it that day! She also helped me with grout colors and gave me a list of tiler’s they recommended. She also was able to order the same Italian tile I got from Meadowcreek for less money and it arrived in only 4 days. I chose Jeremy Rogers to fix my master bath and redo the upstairs bath. I cannot say enough good things about Jeremy. God has given him some amazing talents. Not only did he do the demo and tile but he also installed my flooring, the vanity, trim, etc. As you can see from the photos I had him do a herringbone formation with the subway tile and it looks amazing! He even used a laser to get the angles lined up with the corners and niche! I also found out that you can remove part of the stud to get a large, centered niche. Ben told me you can only stay within the studs. I couldn't afford to have the entire master bath redone but what Jeremy did is amazing! He went through 2 bags of mud because of Ben’s incompetence just to replace 7 tiles and redo the niche. His assistant said it was the worst mud job he’s ever seen. The moral of the story is to please do your due diligence. I trusted my realtor and the contractor she works with. I wanted to support a local small business so I got my tile from Meadowcreek. Both turned out to be costly, heartbreaking choices but Tile, Inc. helped soften the blow with their stellar service and referral of Jeremy Rogers.

Ellen was above and beyond helpful. I picked out 3 different tiles for 3 different projects working a matter of 15 min. I left with a personal recommendation for a contractor, a beautifully unique quality product, and my 7yo asking if we could come back because she had so much fun with Ms. Ellen!
