We had Ben and team replace the majority of the windows in our home (>20 windows) over a year ago. The entire experience was excellent. A after more than a year we have seen a significant decrease in our power bill, dust, and bugs in the house! well worth the money for quality product and workmanship. We went back to Salem Windows & Doors for a new front door. By now Covid was in full swing. It did take much longer to get the door in, however, we were kept up to date and Ben was honest and upfront with us about timing etc. The door finally arrived and was installed as scheduled. Again, excellent product and workmanship. All the crew for both the installations were respectful, hard working, and took great care.
We have dealt with a significant number of trades people of the past three years and very few were of this quality.
I can't say enough good about our experience with Salem Windows and Doors. From the first meeting with owner Ben Heinson we knew we were on the right track in selecting a window vendor. Ben listened carefully to our questions and concerns and scheduled on on-site review of our home. He and associate John carefully measured existing windows (and one sliding door). He made several suggestions in window selection that would save money and provide the functionality we were after. Critical to our selection of vendors was Salem's willingness to provide a full service job, including removing and replacing our plantation shutters throughout. By contrast, the competing national brand "A" vendor told us we would need to find and contract separately with a company to work with the plantation shutters and to move furniture and pictures away from the windows.
We elected to disqualify "A" and placed the order for new Marvin windows with Salem. As expected, there was a lengthy delay between ordering the windows and receiving them, since they are manufactured to order in Minnesota and there is a healthy demand for Marvin windows. Because we were told upfront about the schedule, this was no problem for us.
During the wait for the windows to arrive, I had time to think about all the possible problems that could arise during the installation process:
Would our household and daily routine be completely disrupted?
Would we have access to our 2-car garage and the driveway?
Would care be taken to protect our furniture and flooring?
When the windows arrived and we met the installation technicians, Jay and Scott, we were pleased to start a dialog about work schedule, our preference with the order of installation, our preference for start/stop time, and driveway/garage access.
Basically, the process couldn't have gone any smoother. Jay and Scott took extraordinary care of all our belongings, including putting up plastic sheeting over furniture in installation areas and laying down tarps over flooring and carpets. At the end of each work day, all work areas were straightened, cleaned, and all tools and equipment were removed from our house and returned to their work vehicles. Since they worked in only one area of the house at a time, there was minimal disruption of our daily routine. The craftsmanship these two displayed was amazing. They told us they enjoy what they do, take pride in their work, and they enjoy working together. It was apparent from their work, as there was not one single instance of needing to redo any of the finish work (casing, etc.). We are so pleased with the windows themselves, both interior and exterior finishes. And the plantation shutters were reinstalled, fitting perfectly.
We felt comfortable having the Salem installers in our house, even when we were not home. We loaned our remote garage door opener to them for the duration of the installation in case they needed access to the garage and house when we were out. Trust was never an issue.
How would we rate Salem Windows and Doors? There should be a six-star rating available. You can't go wrong with this company if you're looking for a quality, full service job.

If you are looking for high level professionalism from the point of sale through the completion of the entire installation process, I highly recommend Salem Windows and Doors, Inc. From our first meeting with Ben at our home, I knew he listened and understood our needs. We then met mim at his showroom, and found exactly the quality of product we were hoping to find. Ben’s sales proposal was very through, but easy to understand. I should mention that we got three bids and Salem was priced in the middle. I could not have been more impressed with the installation team. From the time they arrived on Monday morning until they finished on Thursday afternoon, they were all very professional. They moved our furniture out of harm’s way and covered the walls and art with plastic to minimize any dust collection. Upon finishing, all of our furniture was back in place and the house was free of any dust from the project.
We highly recommend Salem Windows and Doors to anyone looking to replace windows and/or doors in their home.

Perhaps the best contractor experience we have ever had in our lives. Top quality product, most professional installers ever, always on time and responsive and, they became part of our family during the process. We cannot recommend Salem enough. Ben, John, Jim, Jay, Robert and the rest of the folks are at the top of their game. Since installation, we have had numerous friends and others come to see the quality job they performed. I guess we would have never thought there would be a day that we would be so proud of our darned windows, but this experience has totally changed that. Go with the Salem Team and the Marvin product and you'll never look back.

We hit the jackpot when we hired Salem Windows and Doors to install replacement windows and doors in our home! Not only did we get a great product, but we also received great service and smooth installation. After much research, we decided on Marvin Windows because of their quality and features. Ben Heinsohn and his installation team were the best! Ben is very knowledgeable about his product and he was always available to answer our many questions in a timely manner. His installation team of Jim, Jayson, and Robert were excellent. They are highly skilled, considerate of your home, and polite; we had complete confidence in them. 33 new windows and 3 new doors later and we could not be happier! We look forward to working with Ben and his team on our next project.

From our first meeting with Ben to our final install of French doors and windows in our master bedroom and new roll-out kitchen windows, we could not be more pleased. The installers were professional and friendly and here when they said they would be. Our new door and windows are top-quality and beautiful - they appear and function exactly as we expected. I would recommend Salem Windows and Doors to anyone looking to install door and windows in new construction or replace existing ones. They are a great company with professional staff members and installers who provide terrific customer service and provide top notch products.

Of the four companies (including local and national competitors) who I talked to or received bids from, there is no question that Ben and the rest of the team at Salem Windows & Doors stood out from the rest. Ben is a great salesmen, but by that I mean that he was a pleasure to work with: he was patient and genuine at every step. It was so great to be working with the company owner.
As soon as I understood the landscape—window salesmen are mostly local reps for regional or national companies who just process orders—I would have been willing to pay a premium for professional service from a local company like Salem Windows & Doors, but I actually ended up getting a better quote for what I needed from Salem than from the other companies, in part because of Ben's superior knowledge and efforts to get me the best deal for me. The Marvin windows that they installed for us were great quality—better than the options I had from other vendors anyway.
I particularly liked that they have a dedicated installation team: other vendors told me they'd assign a contractor from their "approved list," but I knew that meant I would not be the contractor's real customer. Jim and the rest of the installation team was clearly trying to take care of me and my project to the best of their abilities.
There are a few projects around my house that we didn't get to this time, and Salem will be my first call when we're ready to move forward again.
