Executive Outdoor Living has installed 2 pools and surrounding hardscapes for us. I would strongly recommend them for any pool and/or larger hardscape job for a number of reasons. In regard to pools, they manage both the pool and landscape sides of the job which is rare but also very important. This means they are responsible for the job from soup to nuts instead of deferring key components to another company. In addition, their communication exceeds expectations throughout the process.

From our initial meeting with Executive Outdoor Living, we were beyond thrilled with our experience all the way through. Their design was extremely creative and blew away all the other bids. Jake and his team took care of every single piece of our landscaping project and were extremely responsive throughout the process. Would highly recommend Executive Outdoor Living to anyone looking to spruce up their landscaping or redoing their backyard.

Jason was the BEST from being friendly and answering any questions I had. I have used several pool companies in past 4 years and this was the BEST service! The other companies have had very little customer service and nothing but positives so far here! Will be using Executive Oursoor living for sure from here on out!!

Executive is the company you want to design your backyard and build your pool. Following a couple discussions with Shane, we contracted with Executive to install an in-ground fiberglass pool and fire pit in our backyard. Throughout the project, both Jake & Jason were actively involved to ensure work continued to move forward. Shane also stopped by several times to check on progress and discuss options at major decision points. It was clear that everyone working on the project enjoyed working with each other and had a vested interest in the final result. Whenever we had a question someone was always available and willing to talk with us. Each time the project reached a point where the next design or materials decision needed to be made, Jake walked us through all of our options and trade-offs and answered all our questions. Executive (Jake) also managed all of the related work: electrical, plumbing, gas, fence, and sod. All the vendors did fantastic work and everything turned out beautifully. Finally, as an added bonus, the landscaping work around our new patio addressed several drainage problems we'd had for years. We've got a fantastic backyard thanks to Jake, Jason, Shane and the rest of Executive's team.

We hired Executive Outdoor Living to tear out and replace an existing concrete patio, retaining wall and landscaping around our pool. Our project turned out amazing due to the vision of Jake Johnson and the hard work of the Executive team. From start to finish, Jake was available to ask questions and provide guidance throughout the project. With any project there are hurdles to overcome, and the Executive team ensured that any issues were resolved quickly and to our agreed upon standards. We now have a beautifully landscaped yard and pool resort area, enhanced with lighting, speakers, and fire pit. We are very happy with the transformation and we would definitely recommend Executive Outdoor to anyone!

We hired Executive to install an in-ground pool after reviewing their previous work and receiving an excellent review from an existing pool customer. Count us among another of those VERY pleased Executive customers who will be more than happy to refer others to Executive for pool, landscaping, and more. Jake led the project from start to finish and provided wonderful insight / ideas on features that wonderfully enhanced the outcome. BIG shout-out to all the Executive team members who helped create a memory maker area for our family for years to come.

I gathered three bids from three different companies for some simple work around my yard. I needed a cedar tree removed from the corner and a bush that had just gotten out of hand and replace it with another tree, and then needed some general garden bed clean up and trimming of a couple of bushes. I called them based on a discount card I had received in the mail and got their bid on 4/5 for $620. Shortly after that I emailed them and asked them to do the work based on their bid but I would like to replace the Ivory Halo Dogwood they suggested on the bid with a Taylor Juniper as it would be closer to the previous tree we were removing. I also emailed them a copy of the discount coupon and bid that my request was based on. On 4/15 I had heard nothing from them about being scheduled and since I was preparing to leave for a 2 week trip I called them to see if they were going to do the work. Shane told me he would get us scheduled in right away and said it would likely get completed while I was gone. I told them I was fine with that and I reminded them of the change in tree type and they said that would be fine and they would install a Taylor Juniper instead. We returned from our trip 2 weeks later on 4/30 and the job had not been completed nor had we been contacted. I waited a week and heard nothing from them so I made contact with them on 5/5 asking if they were going to do the work. They responded right away and said they would be there to do the work on 5/10-11 and they had contacted the locators. Nobody showed up these days. On 4/13 they rolled up with a crew and a truck unannounced and started the work about 2 hours after the gas lines had been marked. They did a nice job and completed the work by afternoon. On 5/21 I received a billing for $825 for the work completed. I sent an email saying they must have made a mistake. My bill should have been $620 minus the coupon discount. That prompted an immediate call from Shane who said the tree cost more and so the bill was $825 instead. Not once during many contact periods including the face to face while the work was being done did anyone tell me that there was a change in price. It's common courtesy to let the customer know of any cost changes and they should be allowed to approve of those changes. Shane just argued with me and said I owed what I owed and that I was to present the coupon at the time of the bid to get any discount. They knew I had the coupon from the moment we decided to work with them and nobody ever said this to me. Very unprofessional. He said they would do me a favor and honor the discount anyway and they would take $738 for the job. Gee thanks. When I looked online at the cost of a 3 foot Taylor Pine it was $45. This was a 5 foot tree they installed (not that I had a choice or approval) so I called my local nursery, Roberts Nursery, and asked if they installed a 5 foot Taylor Juniper for me what would that cost me and they said it would be $150 but they only had 8 foot Taylor Junipers and that would be $280 installed and guaranteed for 1yr. Shane was charging me $350 which I know is high by about $100-200. The bottom line is Executive has several problems you should be aware of if you engage them for work: - They don't communicate. I had to initiate every communication. - They low-ball the bid and then pump it up without discussion - Their lead guy (in this case Shane) is unprofessional and kept telling me how he sold his business to Executive and was going to retire soon. I paid the $738 even though I think I was only liable for the original $620 bid because no communication was provided me that would indicate otherwise until after the work was completed. I vote with my wallet and I inform people of my experiences when they are good and in this case BAD. I'd say find someone else to do business with.

While the patio turned out great, the new landscaping was done around an existing mature tree and they buried that tree well below its root ball which killed it within 1.5 years. After repeated attempts to get a resolution, providing expert opinion from an arborist, a recent World Herald article from the Nebraska extension office regarding the use of mulch and planting trees too deep, physical evidence and photos, the owner has ignored my request to replace the dead tree. Very unprofessional. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
