Pointlessly rude We were locked out of our apartment and called for help. We have an elderly landlord who lives in another state and isn't usually available at a moment's notice. Ryan refused to help unless our landlord called...which I can totally understand, but when I tried to provide alternative proof of residency (utility bills, lease, call from mgmt company instead of landlord) he said "nope. Call someone else" and hung up. You can say no without being so rude to someone in a tight spot calling for help

Unreal. A friend of mine (who's English is rather limited) got stranded in a rural area of Vermont when she lost her key to her vehicle. After AAA came to get her into her car, they recommended calling 603 Lock & Key to inquire about getting a replacement key. She called, leaving a voicemail. With her English being somewhat poor, I decided to call as well to leave an additional voicemail—just in case it may help. Also, since we were both having a hard time making calls (limited cell service), I figured it might be good if 603 had an additional number to call, just in case. Sure enough, the call dropped when I was leaving a voicemail. I called again trying to leave a complete voicemail—instead, the proprietor (at least I assume he was the proprietor) picked up, angrily asking why I'm constantly calling his phone. I couldn't get a word in edge-wise .. he simply swore at me, saying "did it ever occur to you that if it's going to voicemail, then I'm busy doing something?" and hung up. I'm wondering if it ever occurs to him that if you're busy, and calls coming in for your business are so intensely distracting for you—well put your phone on "Do Not Disturb" for the time being. Seems like a much more effective way of things, instead of cussing out someone you was TRYING to leave a voicemail. So look, I get it—misunderstandings happen. I do feel bad for having distracted him in what he was doing, but my feelings of contrition are very limited following the manner he chose to employ. If he reads this review, I hope he learns that people on the other end may be struggling in ways he can't anticipate (especially folks calling a locksmith, for crying out loud). As for my friend, we ended up having to get her towed to a dealership about 90 miles away—we just couldn't find a better option. It was a tough situation for her to be sure—helped in absolutely no way by 603 Lock & Key. Learn from this 603, be better—and watch your language while you're at it.

603 Lock & Key answered the phone on the 1st ring at 5:30 pm, which was impressive enough on its own. He was there in less than 24 hours to make new keys for an older van, who’s only key went missing while we were trying to sell it. They were a recommendation from our mechanic, who I trust whole heartedly, and they did not disappoint. Great pricing and He even traveled pretty far north to get to us the day before the 4th of July, which was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend!

My partner had contacted 603 Lock & Key months ago about rekeying some locks on a condo she bought. The guy would make an appointment then cancel last minute multiple times. Today I was to meet him at the condo after I got off work. The earliest I could be there was 2pm. He told my partner he had a master key for the units and could get started before I arrived. When I arrived at 2:03, a VERY surly young lock tech greets me in the parking lot with “What time is it?” I reply 2:03.” He responds with, So you’re 35min late for a 1:30 appointment… why it that?” I sent him on his way. Really bad experience. Will never use 603 Lock & Key.

I lost the key to my Range Rover, a friend recommended Ryan's company. I called him and he said he would get back to me with a quote that day or the next day. The next day came and he never called me back. I called him the third day to get an answer, he stated he was dealing with a family issue and said he would get back to me. The rest of the week I called every day and left a message and never received a call back. I called him again on Friday 6/7, he finally answered and I asked him if he has a quote for me. He stated "someone left you a message with the quote" I checked my phone for missed calls voice messages, I told him nobody contacted me. Ryan quoted me a price of $900 to make and program a key. I immediately went into price shock and said "I'm not paying $900 for a key", again I was shocked and that was my response not trying to be rude just shocked. I am sure if someone was quoted a price like this and not expecting it, you would be in shocked too. I was also quite shocked at the way Ryan treated me! Instead of Ryan explaining to me why the price was so high he immediately hung up on me. I texted him back "that was very unprofessional and rude to hang up on me. I never expected the price to be so high" . I am a business owner as well and I would never treat my clients with the disrespect Ryan displayed to me during this process. I am well aware of being able to post reviews which can make or break your company! I was not even going to post a review of him hanging up on me until I received the following text message back from him where he replies "I don't appreciate it when people are rude to me because they can't afford their mistake" Again, I was shocked at the price not meaning to be in his words "rude". By the way "my mistake" was I was rushed to the hospital via ambulance from my physical therapy appointment and lost my key at the Dartmouth ER. I am posting a picture of his response back to me. It's a shame he is the only locksmith, according to Ryan, within 100 miles of here!
