I hesitated posting this for a year but now that we have an issue with mold and condensation in the bathroom wall and standing water in the drain I have no reason to hold off.
They cannot be trusted. Take money and do poor job.
This is the repair on the wall they did once we found out they didn't properly waterproof our shower and have water in the wall. We have been calling and messaging for over a month to finish the repair and no response.
Marshal over promises and then sends inept sub contractor, who made things crooked, had no experience with linear drains and could not even measure an opening in the wall so as to fit a sliding door. So now both doors slam into the wall and break of pieces of wood. They didn't even measure the door height and now the threshold has to be artificially low, making a big step.
In fact the contractor Luis was almost blind while on our job which they didn't disclose to us until later. He was due for a surgery but instead was forced to juggle multiple jobs for Marshal. I heard them telling on the phone. If we pay for a premium bathroom remodel we have a right to a contractor who can actually see and measure.
He had to redo so many things after I found things misaligned and they're still crooked.
They even broke our vanity leg, scratched fixtures and floor during construction.
The quality of finishes is poor. They refused to skim coat the wall and you can see all the flaws.
They don't know a 45 degree cut for tile trim and messed up the niche 3 times even though I overseen every aspect of the construction and have them exact measurements.
The renovation that was promised to be done in 3 weeks took over 3 months because after first two weeks they stopped showing up and we had to beg them to come finish.
During first 2 months we didn't have a working toilet as the new toilet sat in the foyer and other toilet flusher broke and they refused to fix it for us.
They installed beautiful new tiles first and then damaged the surface so by the time it was over, the tile has spots all over.
Needed to replace my old hollow metal framed doors and the owner Marshall was very quick to get me setup with a licensed contractor. Doors came out great, contractor did a nice job installing doors with door casings. Before-after pictures attached.

Marshall and his team did a fantastic job renovating our guest bathroom. We had to gut the entire bathroom, expand the space and add in a bathtub. The team was punctual and extremely hard working throughout the project and showed great attention to detail. Furthermore, they were reasonably priced and finished the job in a timely manner. Would highly recommend!

I was looking for a contractor who was a one stop shop that could take care
of my bathroom renovation, which meant I needed demo, plumbers, electricians and tile guys. I did my due diligence and checked their reviews which were stellar all around. I chose Marshall and his crew after meeting with him. I felt that he had a handle on designing my bathroom and fully modernizing it. Results were spectacular and was very pleased with the final outcome. I recommend Garden State Renovations for any project that you are looking to do and will call them again when I'm renovating my kitchen.

We used Garden State Renovations to finish our basement. Marshall was quick to respond to my initial call and provided an estimate at a very reasonable price to us quickly. Once we awarded him the job Marshall was able to start the job in a timely manner. He and his team were attentive to all of the details and were very accommodating to any special requests we had during the process. We couldn't be happier with the finished product and would use Marshall again for any future projects.
