I normally review when something is really good or really bad. There is a little of both here. First the bad. We purchased the Generator and transfer switch ourselves and called received estimates from several different companies to install it. We decided to go with Switch partially because of the positive reviews. We agreed to the contract and sent a check that day. After that we heard nothing. I reached out about 10 days later asking for an estimated start date and was told by the owner she would check with Dwayne and let me know. She didn’t, I had to reach out again. We finally got going about 2 months later. Once it was installed, Dwayne was said he would be here first thing on Monday to do the final programming and startup. No show no call. I called and got voice mail, I left a message and didn’t get a call back. I read the manuals and did the final programming and start up myself. I had an appointment out of town that afternoon. Dwayne called late that day to say he was on his way. I told him I handled it. There were some additional issues getting the permit finalized but we got it. Truthfully we were just glad it was over.
Now the good. We received a timely estimate from Dwayne and the price was very reasonable. When the electrician did arrive, he clearly knew his job and the work was neat and correct, as was the plumbing done by a sub -contractor. Switch has some excellent employees, who do great work. The problems are with the office/owners and their customer service, or lack thereof. We hope that the company grows and is successful and our problems were just growing pains. Time will tell.
Switch Electric is certainly the best electrician in greater Reno area. They are honest, hard working and professional. We worked with Switch Electric on two of our properties. One was 225Amp power panel upgrade with 3 Tesla charger outlets.
Joana get back to us promptly with quotes while other drag their feet just to provide a quote.
Dwayne is amazing. He's very professional, came on time and was being flexible on changing some of the job assignment.
They finish the job in no time. Would certainly refer businesses to switch electric.

I was referred to them by a satisfied customer to install a generator
I would not hesitate to recommend this company. Their service and communication was a 10 plus.
I had attempted to get a generator with two other companies and they fell flat on their face.
I am sure once you meet these people you will hire them.
Family owned business!!!.

My go to for all my residential electrical needs. Always fast, efficient and affordable. Tanner was great. Same with Joanna who runs the front desk I believe. She communicates well and leaves voicemails the day before your appointment.

We had lost power in the plug for our home’s furnace. With a cold snap coming we wanted to get the problem fixed ASAP. I called several highly rated electric companies, getting only recorded messages and no quick call-backs, until I called Switch Electric and JoAna answered personally and was able to get me scheduled with Isaiah within a couple of hours. Isaiah was timely and efficient, getting everything up and going again in less than an hour. He also alerted us to a potential future problem so we can have it taken care of before it becomes a problem. As of 5 pm we have yet to receive a call-back from any of the other highly rated electric companies that rely on voicemail (and it has been 9 hours). Thanks to JoAna, Dwayne and Isaiah and Switch Electric.

Switch Electric (Sparks,NV) installed our GENERAC 14KW home generator on time and within budget. They handled all the bureaucratic paperwork and approvals. Communication was superb as we were kept informed about each step in the process, as promised.
It took time for all the paperwork but it was professionally done.
I highly recommend Switch Electric and their companion company Water Works plumbing (Reno); used to plum a tee for the propane line. Water Works came out on the 4 Jul holiday to ensure we would be ready for our next county inspector, OUTSTANDING!
Another happy customer!

A few months ago, Dwayne from Switch relocated an exterior receptacle for me and installed a missing receptacle in a bedroom. Both have been functioning perfectly. Since he did such great work, I called him back for more help with three-way lighting switches. He's become so popular though that he hired more help! Tom was equally capable, kind, punctual, and friendly to have in my home for repairs. Tom replaced 10 toggle switches and two receptacles in seemingly no time flat. I'll be calling them soon when it's time for a new water heater breaker and new receptacle install in the garage.

I had a wonderful experience with Switch Electric and would highly recommend them to anyone in the Reno or surrounding area. They were extremely punctual, professional, honest and fair with their pricing. They were upfront about the additional charges that would be seen on my electrical bill for shutting off the energy and both the workers who came out were incredibly polite and explained everything I needed to know. Switch Electric was both very easy to contact with any questions and were quick to return any voicemails. They labelled the new panel at the end of install and cleaned up both inside of my house after installing the bathroom fans and the outdoor area where they installed the new panel. I have never experienced an electrical or construction company that cleaned up after themselves as well as these men did and it is extremely appreciated. They worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done. Definitely go with switch electric if you are looking for someone to do some work!

Call Switch Electric LLC and make an appointment for estimate to replace a new 125 amp electric panel. Owner Dwayne coming in and check the old panel and the position of the panel. he gave us a fair price for replace the panel and mention that the power company will charge us close to $300 for turn the power off and later turn it back on. Three days later the
employee Ryan coming at 8:30 am. waiting the power company to turn off the power then he start to work until 1pm. Ryan call the power company to turn on the electric power again. He finished his installation at about 2pm. Then he coming inside the house with me and check which switch control which area and mark down on the panel side. It took 30 minutes to mark down all the switch. Thanks Ryan for all the good works.
