My family used Capital City Movers for our recent move from NYC to Michigan - including packing services. Milan was very helpful in booking and also responsive to our questions and concerns regarding the move. We had no issues during our move and no items were damaged. They were able to deliver our items exactly when they said they would arrive. The guys were very good at communicating with us on their arrival time - would definitely recommend capital city movers!

Working with Capital City was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. SARA R. came and did an in-person quote at my apartment, she was awesome. Booking the quote was a breeze and they had lots of flexibility. Quote came in quickly after that and was easy to understand, she answered my questions that I had immediately. I couldn’t believe how reasonable the price was compared to the 3 other companies I spoke to. Sara continued to be available and responsive over the next month before the move. RAFA and his team came and packed up our place one day, and moved the next. They were AMAZING. We had a big move from an apartment to a house and things couldn’t have gone better. This company is reliable and professional and I’ll be recommending them to everyone.

***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS. THEY WILL DESTROY IT AND WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU FOR THE DAMAGE.*** “Keep calm and move” is this company’s motto which is pathetic as our valuables were grossly mishandled and destroyed. I’m a month behind in posting this review as it’s been an ongoing mission to sort through the sorry excuse of labeling and packing executed by the Capital City movers team in Northern NJ. We did an interstate move to the South and were expecting our personal items to be treated carefully and gracefully but the results we got were that of an angry UPS/Fedex worker that tosses items to people’s front porch with no regard of the contents. As you can see from the pictures, valuable furniture and gym equipment were damaged during transport and this was mainly due to the poor packing done in NJ. I’ve worked with professional movers before and did see the early warning signs in how the crew wasn’t labeling boxes with the popular orange numbered stickers and the foreman walking around with their tablet jotting down what’s in each box as inventory needs to be taken before moving. No inventory was taken, we’re still hoping all our items arrived! It’s important to note that the team that came down to the South wasn’t the same crew that packed, including the foreman. When the truck arrived, they opened the doors and to everyone’s surprise, there was a shattered side table! During transport, the shattered table rubbed against the gym equipment and then broke off pieces from it. The gym equipment was barely used and now it looks like it was bounced around in a moving truck (which it was!). We did get in touch with them to see if they could provide us with a reasonable reimbursement for the damage and not a peep from them since the initial move. My rating for this company is a NEGATIVE TEN but the best I can do on here is a 1. As I wrote in the beginning DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS. THEY WILL DESTROY IT AND WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU FOR THE DAMAGE!!!!

We had a horrible experience with this company. There was significant damage to our furniture and their insurance hasn't been responsive. They did not do what we agreed to - they said they would pack pictures, but actually left them for us to pack because they forgot what they needed to transport them. Do not use them if you care about your stuff. Very stressful and not worth using them.

I highly recommend Capital City Movers. Marco was fast and responsive to book me a last minute appointment date one week before I was due to move at the end of the month. Initially, I called Piece of Cake movers before that and they were terrible, never called me back and when I called for a price quote, Piece of Cake was quoting me price $450 and within 10 min in the call they told me the price increased to $650 cause they are fully booked now as we speak over the phone and they can’t moved me on the actual date I wanted. Definitely sketchy. Don’t waste your time on them. Marco at capital movers told me that Saturday was no problem, and quote me a reasonable price. We went through the estimate items and Marco said that a few extra boxes is not a problem unless is more than 6 boxes there will be an increase of $50 from the price quoted. On the day of moving itself, 3 movers were sent to help me move my stuff from my studio apartment. They went above and beyond helping me move and packed my computer and tv up in a box. They help me take apart my bed frame and assemble my bed in my new apartment. Everything was done fast and smooth within 2.5 hours from my old apartment to the new apartment. They asked me to even check their moving truck to make sure nothing was missing. Really trust worthy guys. I definitely hire Capital City Movers again if I ever need movers. Their price are reasonable, you pay what you get for, and they are high quality movers. I have friends who were being cheap and hired Uhaul movers that stole their items.
