What really helps is their ability to clearly articulate their findings and explain in layman’s terms. Additionally, they don’t sugar coat the findings. We bought our house a year ago. We had an inspection and re-inspection done by this company. They told us some of the issues but not some that I think shoukd have been noticeable to a professional. This is our first time purchasing. Since moving in, we have found that many of our ducts under the house were not even attached to the vents, the AC unit was built int the deck so it wasn't getting proper airflow, and all of the sink pipes did not have p-pipes. We were informed by Clint that the deck roof had one hole and that it would leak unless we filled the hole. In fact the entire deck roof isn't connected properly so my deck floods when it rains. We were told that 2 outlets have minor issues. We have had to shut down several outlets all over because of either popping, not working at all, or weren't attached to support so the plug fell out of the walls. Our entire 2 story house is on 1 breaker box and we have been told several times that too many rooms/appliances are on breakers together so we have many issues with breakers popping. There was a constant water leak from the upstairs bathroom dripping onto our HVAC unit which ruined it. It had to have been dripping for a very long time to rust out and ruin a motor. There are so many issues that I could keep going on. I will definitely hire 2 different inspectors next time. Betchan was referred to is by our realtor and next time, I won't just take their advice. Life lesson learned for us.
