ESP Painting just completed painting the exterior of our 80+ year old home and we could not be more pleased with the results! Martin, the crew leader, was meticulous with his work, communicated clearly, and obviously cared about doing an excellent job. We highly recommend you hire ESP Painting for the exterior or interior of your home.
I rarely post online reviews positive or negative but my wife and I are so pleased with the interior job ESP Painting just completed for us that we felt compelled to share our experience. We will definitely be hiring ESP Painting to paint the outside of our house this Spring and we highly recommend you consider them for any of your painting needs.
I methodically researched interior and exterior painters in the area online and then contacted the top 10 vendors for bids. I created a spreadsheet and graded each vendor on years in business, quantity and quality of online reviews, clarity of answers to my questions in person, pricing, terms of payment, willingness to address several problem areas on walls and ceilings, and email responsiveness to follow up questions.
ESP Painting rose to the top of the list and they delivered, too. Julia, with her hands on experience as a painter and home design consultant, was quite knowledgeable and offered us some excellent suggestions on colors and sheens. She also did not over sell the service at all yet she was very proud to be part of ESP Painting. Martin protected our floors and furniture before he efficiently and expertly painted our kitchen, dining room, living room, and bathroom, including ceilings and trim, all by himself in 4 days. Jeff, the president of the company, even checked in with us as Martin finished up on the last day to be sure we were happy with the job. We love the final results. (See photos attached.)
ESP Painting did a terrific job of painting my classic 1906 Portland four-square house. Julia, Randy, and Jeff are smart, naturally warm, and highly effective field representatives and managers. The crew worked hard, fast and did an excellent job. And they were all good natured, flexible and amenable to suggestion. They were also very mindful not to damage fragile plants. And they left the yard in excellent condition when they finished the job. And my house looks great! I’m glad we found each other.

I had wainscoting installed and needed a professionally done paint job. After getting a couple bids from other contractors, I went with ESP Painting because of many reasons. First, their contract included ensuring that the surface was smooth and finished correctly for painting. This included filling in cracks and sanding the surface. Other bids did not include this kind of attention to detail. Second, their warranty and guarantee stood them apart from other contractors. The painter was so kind and covered all the furniture and appliances near the painting project. Lastly, their flexibility with offering payment plan options made this project realistic within my budget.
Although ESP wasn't the cheapest option, the quality was superior and I have no regrets choosing them for the job. I HIGHLY recommend ESP Painting for your next painting project.

We are new to our current house. Our beautiful old (1929) Tudor cottage house has been generally well-tended but needs some TLC. Painting was our first large project, and we feel fortunate to have had ESP for the job. Old houses have quirks. Painting is not simply taping and spraying. Old, inconsistent siding and woodwork needs careful and thorough prep. In sum, a painter cannot be just a painter to do a good job, and ESP’s painter, Fermin, clearly knows old houses. He was amazing. He demonstrated craftsmanship, concern for safety, aesthetics, and landscape, and all well progressing at an admirable pace. His prep work and clean-up were sparkling. The usual small glitches (e.g., wood repairs, paint delays) were met with polite ingenuity. Everywhere he showed great attention to detail and appreciation for our lovely old home. We have had many plaudits from neighbors on the repainted house. In sum, we couldn’t possibly think of a better painter.

Jeff Sommers is the owner of ESP Painting. Due to time constraints, Jeff asked us if we wouldn't mind if he subcontracted the prep and paint job out to another crew he has worked with in the past. I am so happy we said yes because this crew did an incredible job of prep work and painting I have ever experienced. They worked tirelessly from sunrise to almost sunset daily. ESP was the most expensive of all the bids we received but I now realize it was so worth the extra money. Jeff came back to follow up on some minor issues or questions we had. It's really important to know that you can trust someone that stands behind his work and crew. My Seventy one year old house feels almost new again. I love the chocolate color I chose for my house but now I need to get our patio repainted, but that's for next year. This photo is of our patio. I wish every contracting company was this good!!! Everything was perfect with these folks-- professional processes, fair price, good communication, super nice people, and a beautiful job painting the exterior of our house. I can't say enough good things. The painters were super nice guys who took pride in their work. I've done a lot of my own painting and the details make all the difference. Really beautifully done. They spent a whole day prepping, caulking cracks, removing nails. Plus, they left us us nicely labeled cans of extra paint for touch ups. Highly recommend!!!

Jeff, Carrie, Randy, Alex and crew were amazing to work with from start to finish on our exterior paint project. Communication was on point every step of the way. Alex and team were truly top notch from their attention to detail, quality workmanship and reliability. We appreciate how much care went into protecting the areas surrounding our home. We will definitely hire ESP Painting again for any future projects. OUTSTANDING!

I could not be happier with the work that ESP just completed on my exterior paint job. It was a big job with many aspects including body color, trim color, caulking and resealing, cedar shingle staining/sealing and carpentry to replace worn or damaged cedar siding.
Jeff and his on-site manager Manuel were easy to work with and communicated wonderfully at each step of the process and were very respectful and careful with my property as a whole. The work was done to high quality and done right. The guys on-site took care of every detail and we’re friendly and pleasant to work with.
I had 3 bids for the job but Jeff stood out to me for his thorough explanation of the job and because he took the extra time to chat and explain his work and a bit about the company whereas other bidders just simply walked around the house and emailed me a bid number. I liked his more personal caring touch which wasn’t rushed.
I can’t say enough about Manual who did much of the work and managed the site. He is highly skilled, personable and super conscientious about providing a great experience for the client. He made suggestions along the way that’s worked out very well for us. I highly recommend him.
In addition the carpenter, Rafael, was also super strong and great at his work. He also communicated well and always took the extra time to explain to me what he was doing and where he had recommendations to make the job better.
I rarely give long reviews such as this but you definitely want Jeff and this team to bid on your next job. They will make your house look beautiful and do it with the highest standards and make it worry free for many years to come. I will recommend them to all my friends and family.

I cannot say enough about how professional, attentive to the owners needs and courteous Jeff and his crew are. We had a 30 yr old stairway railing, posts and skirts stripped and painted. We had an issue with the color match and the ESP team spent 3 days matching and making sure that the color was correct and matched the rest of the hallway. The paint job on the bedroom was absolutely better than we could have ever imagined. The quality of the work by Manuel and the paint crew was beyond belief. Thank you ESP Painting.
