They build great cabinets. The hinges that they have used for at least the last 16 years are complete garbage. On any high use cabinet door you will notice in a short amount of time. I've purchased 2 sets of kitchen cabinets through them over the last 16 years and never had a problem with their customer service, when a hinge would break I'd go to their show room and show the broken hinge and they would happily give me a new one. Made it easy to overlook the poor hinges. Today I went to get a new one and was told they no longer will replace them and referred me to some website for me to purchase. I was also going to start the process of purchasing a new set of cabinets for a home we're remodeling. I decided the frustrations of broken hinges and now their unwillingness to replace them convinced me to take my business elsewhere.

This outfit was great. I was in Bend to attend a memorial for my father in law. He was one of those larger than life guys. But he sure wasn't handy around the house. I got a little stir crazy and started fixing and cleaning stuff for my appreciative mother in law. One of the fixes was cabinet doors that had broken in their big fancy house on a hill. The hinges were custom. The whole house is custom. Ace Hardware recommended this company, and sure enough they had the parts I needed. Brian's Cabinets has a more than competent staff who know everything about Bend and custom design work. They hooked me up with Austrian hinges (or whatever they were) for a decent price. I installed them in about 20 minutes and had to find something else to do.

Super stoked by the effort and kindness of Brian's Cabinets to assist me on a comparably speaking small issue that I was having no luck with on my own. Especially at this time of craziness in getting contractors to help you. A wood dowel rod snapped in half in my closet, and looking at the design, it wasn't very well constructed. I called a local closet company, who doesn't do repairs and they referred a contractor, who after one conversation and two weeks up no show or follow up I had to give up on. I called Brian's Cabinets and although they don't do repairs, he talked me through my set up and asked me to send some photos which I did. He confirmed my thoughts, that it was not constructed properly to begin with but also knew that I wasn't looking to rebuild them properly at great cost. I simply wanted to get a metal dowel instead of wood. After a fair amount of effort on his part, he called me back to say they found the parts and could have them delivered the next business day, and took my measurements. Then I had to be bold enough to inquire if I could pay extra for delivery. As 10' dowels wouldn't fit in my sedan. He was going to be on vacation but said he'd figure it out for me. Today (the next business day) he called and left me a voicemail that he needed my address and he has the parts in his truck. He said he'd leave the parts and the invoice on my porch if I wasn't home. This is a page right out of the Old Bend playbook. He offered that he understood how difficult it was to get help help on these matters and hated to see folks running into dead ends as my needed parts were not going to be at a big box store, nor did I have tools to saw things down. My fix will work perfectly. I know this, next time I go to build, I'll call Brian's Cabinets. Because not only do I believe they will take care of their own work, they will help a person out on work not theirs. That is huge. It isn't simply good business (because I'm pretty sure there was no profit margin here). Thank you Todd Hakala and Brian's Cabinets. It was a honor to do business with you.

They currently supply custom commercial retail fixtures that are installed in high end country clubs around the nation.
