We have really appreciated working with Jan and his staff. We met Jan after he designed a home for our friend. We hired him to assist in a major remodel (down to the foundation) of an existing property. It was a wonderful experience working with him in all regards. He has terrific ideas, he designs a clean, modern home and he really listens to your input. He has a desire to make every part of a home interesting, for example, including carefully placing the correct size of window to take advantage of a particular view into the yard outside. We ended up finding a new home before completing the plans for the remodel so we changed direction and Jan helped with the remodel (less extensive) of our new home. He was considerate of the existing architecture of the house, he reviewed old plans before making changes, his ideas were thoughtful and really improved the livability of our home. He has a wide breadth of knowledge beyond design and construction of the home and assisted us with other projects. For example, he worked with us selecting lighting fixtures based on aesthetics as well as function and energy considerations. He is professional, timely and a joy to be around and his pricing is reasonable. His enthusiasm for his job is evident. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him.
