I'm on an HOA board with two seven-story concrete buildings. We need to have an in-depth engineering study done and I was making calls around, to find out who does this kind of work in the Vancouver/Portland area. Bill took time out of his busy schedule to review the previous study and advise me on how we might approach the work going forward. He wasn't on the payroll; we hadn't signed a contract. He simply returned my call. We had a deep conversation about what the preliminary study was saying needed to be looked at and how to get the next phase of the project completed. He provided a short list of companies to consider contacting and specific questions to ask. Although we didn't fall into Bill's wheelhouse, he turned out to provide a master class in how to read a "preliminary structural engineering evaluation." And he invited me to call with any additional questions. Wish I *could* hire him!

We asked Bill to come out to our almost 100 year old home to examine a few concerning quirks. He spent hours with us, examining the yard, the foundation, the basement, the first and second floors, and the attic. Turns out, what concerned us did not concern him. Just part of owning an old house built in the 1930s. He gave us some do it yourself solutions and some solutions for a contractor or handyman. He pointed out some fun facts, like the visible subfloor planks in the garage ceiling were the same planks the builders used to pour the foundation. Bill is friendly and smart and thorough and a great educator. Money well spent and peace of mind. Highly recommended! Thank you, Bill.

I found Bill by carefully reading through reviews of structural engineers in Portland. I want to echo everything the previous reviewers have said. Bill went above and beyond to help us after we had a bad gut feeling about a home we were about to close on. It's obvious he cares about his work, and values high quality and honesty in an industry full of dismissive people trying to make a quick buck. Had we not found him, we would have unknowingly been stuck with, at minimum, $65k in foundation work after closing on this house. We learned so much more beyond just structural engineering from our time with him. He's an incredible person who wants to educate and empower people to feel confident in these types of situations. He has an impressive background and told us about some of the commercial projects he's been on. I can't recommend him enough.

Bill was an incredible help to us. We had some questions during the inspection period of a home purchase. His assessment gave us the confidence to move forward knowing how to correct an issue we were concerned about. After explaining what we needed to do with clarity, he shared his expertise with us on other unrelated matters, on his time. His knowledge was mind blowing, and his desire to be helpful was equally impressive. Sometimes you just get lucky enough to stumble upon a diamond in the rough. If you are reading this, you've found a diamond.

Bill is the greatest! My wife and I bought a 1950s home in Portland and noticed a vertical crack in the foundation shortly after we moved in (of course). Bill spent hours with us, walking the property and looking at the overall structural integrity of our home. He explained everything, every step of the way, and answered all of our questions. Good news is the fix was easy and normal maintenance, and we both feel way more empowered with understanding the ins and outs of our home. Bill has been the greatest money we’ve spent since moving. And we’re so appreciative of his time and knowledge! Thanks, Bill!
